Rumour has it that the long-delayed Turn tower in Vancouver has a very good chance of restarting construction soon.

A few pictures to re-jog the memory.

Apparently the design has hardly changed at all in the newest version so hopefully we'll be seeing this beauty rise soon!

Looks very good, hope some of the towers sitting on the sidelines here in Toronto get such breathtaking design work.

Great to see The Turn revived and back on track. This has been one of my favourite Canadian proposals for years. Another great addition to Vancouver's skyline.

Is the Ritz coming on board to anchor this development?

I don't see how it was possible that sales could have been slow for this project in the hot Vancouver Market. - Anyways, still good enough to see it back.

Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of casa, or boxes with wrap around balconies.... And U condos is right around the corner...

As someone pointed out at UT, a One Madison Park esque building would look cool here. (at the 199/205 yonge block)

http://www.cityrealty.com/graphics/uploads/1306358645_madpark1b.jpg

and regarding the Turning tower Ritz in Vancouver. I think that could be a great building... Though maybe with a bit more height, it'll look crazy!!!!.... and yeah, it looks more visually appealing that even the Ritz in toronto.

80 storeys is becoming the norm for Yonge Street. When we see some renders, we will be able to visualize how it will look in context with the historic properties at 199 and 205.

This property looks like it will be the next one to burndown homeless style on Yonge, probably during winter when these fools are trying to stay warm.

How is 80 storeys becoming the norm on Yonge? Asa far as I know the tallest out of the dozens of released development isn't even 80 storeys. I will know exactly where to look if this buildings somehow burn down over the winter. Hint ... starts with steve and ends with ve.

Lemme guess? You thought the next phase of Cityplace would be Signature eventhough it was abundantly obviously through previous phases that Concord's priority would be completing the Quartz block. Sorry buddy but, rumour has it the Signature block will be two towers with the tallest barely higher than HVE (540 to 580 feet)

Concord has a nasty habit of being incredibly disappointing.

Now I'm just hoping this one can sneak in just over 200 meters. We need to squeeze out as many 200 meter buildings as possible, cause we don't know when this boom will end, and how long the next building drought will last. Not another 20 years please.

All my hopes are now riding dirty on Yonge Street and flossin' in Yorkville.

Glad to see the Ritz in Vancouver might start construction soon. I really like this design and I hope that the materials used won't look cheap.

According to this post at UT, 9 Grenville will be 169.90 meters (557.4 ft):

Next public meeting:

Tuesday, October 4
10 am
Committee room 1, 2nd floor, City Hall

Details:
52s incl 3 storey podium (density of 24x the lot area)
Total height to the top of the mechanical penthouse is 169.90 meters (557.4 ft)

Retail to be located in the heritage building and at street level along Grenville. The heritage building on site will be preserved.

494 units:
25 Bachelor (5%)
292 one-bedroom (60%)
121 two-bedroom (25%)
49 three-bedroom (10%)

175 parking spaces (#incl 29 commercial parking and 8 car share spaces) in seven levels of
498 bicycle parking spaces

Dream bigger, like something over 1'000 feet

Yes, that would be awesome but, I'll be happy with 200 meters to 250 meters tall for Signature.

It will create a proper point in the skyline on the opposite side of the CN Tower from the Financial district, creating 2 peaks of skyscrapers.
