Last check they were at 60% sold and that was in the spring - word was they were to begin this fall.
(Wonder how that is going)
I actually forgot all about this beauty! If the right materials are used this will look better than the Ritz Carlton.

You're sounding like Caltrane. A few renderings doesn't make a confirmation.

But it makes sense though, right guy?

RBC building it's second tower in less than 5 years, you just gotta figure BMO, CIBC and Scotiabank will be next in line, they haven't built towers in downtown Toronto in over 25 years.

hilarious that everyone at UT is crapping all over this building....makes me wonder what people see when they look at images like that....seems like all that people care about is floor count.

to me it has beautiful proportion and massing.

As far as design goes it's nothing we haven't seen before. It'll blend right in (groans)

I actually think it's a pretty solid, although conservative design. Reminds me of the timeless and classic International style office buildings from the 50-60's.

Yup me too. Internationalism meets 2008 podium design. A solid design.

Floor count and "starchitecture" design gets some people on here a little too wet between the legs me thinks....

While it isn't outrageous to think of BMO anchoring a new development WhipperSnapper is right in that a rendering does not confirm involvement. A year ago BMO submitted an RFP for space to test the water and the rendering you guys are talking about was part of GWL's response to the RFP. BMO has since sat on the proposals submitted to them by the big developers and are not currently in negotiations.

There is another tenant in advanced negotiations with both GWL and Cadillac regarding their respective buildings. Whichever building the tenant decides to go with will assuredly be the next building to hit the ground.

Montreal new office tower to go under-construction soon!

34 storeys Place de la Cité International 2 to be home of new Rio Tinto Alcan International Head Office the project is 600 000 sq ft office

this is the previous design that won't be applied for the new tower.
According to the french Article from Les Affaires news paper, the new design will be something very impressive that answer the highest International standards in term of architecture

BMO is reconfiguring their current space. That doesn't mean they won't pursue new space on top of the shiny new call centre in Meadowvale however, if they really needed space, they would also keep the old floors in FCP instead of abandoning them for the new ones. They have a number of lower class downtown space that, if renovated, could be reconfigured to hold an additional 1000 people without adding a single floor. They may choose to consolidate the space in a new building too.
CIBC was hit the hardest by the derivatives scam and also has brought on a fair amount of space (Bell Trinity for one) on top of reconfiguring the old spaces. What RBC does doesn't at all mean others will follow suit.

It's not like RBC has been the most successful bank over the past few years, but it seems to be gobbling up the most office space. I'm sure we'll see some action from the other banks as it relates to picking up space in some of the other office tower projects in the near to mid term.

At 4.5m per floor, this mama could reach 153m potentially making it the new 6th tallest.

With all the "boom" we've had here recently, none of the new towers will join the "top 5" club.
