I apologize if I place this idea in the wrong thead. Feel free to correct me and re-direct me but...

How realistic would it be to ban cars altogether from
Granville Island and off golf carts for those want to rent them. Others can use Kabuki cabs or walk.

I dont think its really that far fetched. The distances are quite small and for the most part traffic does not move on the island. The idea would work if you were able to locate a large area for parking somewhere at the entrance to the island. It would free up a lot of retailer space and really make the market much more pleasant.

Another issue would be the Ocean plant but they could still run their trucks through with general traffic cut off.

speaking of something like that - why don't we ever see those segway things in the city? has the city banned them?

every city i've been to in the last few years which isn't many - san fran, seattle, portland you see little groups of tourists on them - i would think they would be a boon for little tour operators here

you can go online and see cities all over the states and europe offer segway tours

A second oval void is on a balcony facing north about half way up the building.

They have painted on a dark coloured sealant on the westernmost facade, upon which a green wall trellis system similar to that on Woodwards will be mounted. The oval on this elevation is now clearly on the exterior of the building, as opposed to being an internal stairwell.

On Que looks done and turned out well. I really like how they handled the lane elevation. This is nicer than the front of a whole lot of Vancouver's condo and apartment buildings. At any rate, I think this'll be my last time photographing it.

Great update! I really like that infill on 8th. Man I would love to see more of that. There is so much crap around such as the building beside that infill that need to go bad!

Are there any renders around for the development adjacent to Trillium Fields? I can't find any.

The adress is 1098 Station Street (Formerly 250-298 Prior), and the development application is DE405008.

Yeah, that's why I am curious. There is a Development Application Notice there, that wasn't there at this time last year, so I think there are new plans for the site. I know initially a group wanted to build a Hospital and Medical Campas. I'm wondering if there are any immediate plans for the site.

Anyone know what's planned for the empty lot that's been sitting vacant at Main and King Edward for the last couple of years? It used to be a gas station but that was long ago, not sure what's going up there.

Wesgroup owns that site. It was part of their deal for 4 Shell stations (Denman, Lonsdale & 13th, Main & King Ed...and another I can't remember). They've been doing some environmental work on that site recently, but as far as I know there still haven't been any concrete plans to move forward yet. It will almost assuredly be a 4 storey wood frame condo/retail building.
