wow! that show was amazing!. The music throughout was beautiful. I especially loved the music that was played in the intro; if anybody is interested the name of the song is all roads lead home by golden state

I DVR'd the show yesterday. I did get a chance to catch a few minutes of it here and there, but I'm looking forward to sitting down this evening and watching it in it's entirety!!!

A quick thanks to everyone who posts their WTC pics here. I love keeping up with the progress here and I'm glad that there was finally a TV special made about the rebuilding, etc.

Some of those screen shots are just too blurry, NYguy! They give me a headache.

It's meant to give a sense of scale, wouldn't be too many details anyway...

I just watched the 1st of the 3 episodes, Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero.
Amazing! Absolutely moving and inspirational. I love all the close up construction details featured. Also the rivalry between the two different steel worker teams is a great story. Bravo.

NYguy - thank for posting the links to the show. Inspiring stuff.

Meanwhile Irene's maximum intensity has been lowered to 105 MPH at of 11 AM ET and the eye has filled in. This is good news for the east coast.

Talking

Long time follow of SSP, finally decided to register. I've followed the rebuilding of the WTC from the beginning on this site and others. You guys do a great job with all the photo's and info back and forth. Last night's show on Discovery just put it over the top. That was AWESOME!!! Looking forward to taken my girls down to the site within a few weeks to see the progress in person, just like my dad did with me when the Twins went up almost 40 years ago. Life Long NY'er ...NYC is home now anfd forever. Great to see the Trade Center reaching for the skies again.

Here's why both I Love and Hate YouTube:

There are full episodes of The Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero all over YouTube, which is great, but it's broken up in a way that the titles make no sense. Because there are like five Part 1's. I have no idea which one is the actual beginning of the series. I guess I'll just wait until it airs here.

Meanwhile...

There's a new mobile crane on site today. I wonder what it's for?

Yeah, I thought it was awesome that the two different sides were always in a race. I which I knew which crane was which so we could see who won each crane jump.

And seeing the guys working on the tower made it all that much more "real." The two ironworkers, in particular, were a couple of goofballs.

It looks like they used the dBox models we've seen on wtc.com, aside from 1WTC which looks like a brand new model.

I also LOL'd at putting your name and a "do not repost" line. You took a picture of a copyrighted work and posted it online. Not exactly something you can copyright yourself. I thought that was funny. Good work though.
