Welcome to the Name Police bro.

But in all serious lets get back on topic. I think we have all made our point and we don't need to continue this discussion any more.

Most people think of the GE building as "the Rockefeller Center" even though there's a bunch of buildings that are actually apart of the complex. But if you ask people where the observatory is, they'll most likely say "Top of the Rock." Same with the World Trade Center. It doesn't really matter what people call it as long as everyone knows it's the same building(s) we're talking about.

Thanks. Guess that prediction for it being to the 1,100s isn't gonna happen around 9/11.

Hahaha

No... When some one asked "What are those towers?" we would answer "The World Trade Center" because they were asking about both of them. However, if they asked "What is the one with the antenna on top?" We would say "The North Tower of the World Trade Center" or we would say "That's Number One World Trade Center" because each building had a specific name.

Your original statment was... That in the future if your child asked what the name of 1WTC is, you would answer just "The World Trade Center" which is non-specific and doesn't name the actual building your child was pointing too. Then I simply pointed out the flaw in your logic by mentioning 3 World Trade Center.

But you're right.

No one likes the person that points out how stupid they are being. Most people like to carry on being ignorant without someone pointing out their lack of intelligence.

Carry on.

[QUOTE=Traynor;5385800]Get a grip, most Americans couldn't point to Libya on a Globe, let alone the state that borders their own. I think you are the last people to correct anyone. So if someone somewhere wants to call this tower by a name (That, I'd like to point out, it had officially gone by until a name change a while back) then so be it. How many of you Name Police still called Prince "Prince" even though he changed his name to that symbol thing. Even P Diddy (Or whatever he goes by these days) will turn and say hello if you call him Puff Daddy.

No need to start insulting Americans traynor. That is really uncalled for.

Well, you may refer to this tower as the WTC though its address is 1 WTC,just as 200 Greenwich st. is refereed to as 2 WTC, 3 WTC is 175 Greenwich st and so on and so forth.

Once One World Trade Center has the 101 floor completed, it will be the tallest building in New York City by roof height

I wonder if he means aaaall Americans from Brazil and Chile all the way up to Canada? Or just the ones in the US?

Tower is looking faaantastic btw, can't wait to get back to NYC again. When I was there last it wasn't yet tall enough to stand out, now its definitely making a presence. Gonna be fun to see it continue to rise. Your eye will definitely be drawn to it from here on out.

Come on people! Let's get back into the topic. You can name this building anything you want. Like the Burj Khalifa, which is still named the Burj Dubai, the Willis Tower which will still be known as the iconic Sears, and like the Twin Towers were really former 1 WTC and 2 WTC,but that didn't change the name the public gave to New York's old tallest. And Traynor, please don't start to mock Americans just because some don't agree with you. What if your fellow Canadians had a different name to call the CN Tower, would you nag at them too? Jesus, let's all just get along.

Anyways. It seems when 1 WTC is on the 81st,it will finally be a supertall. But it already has the mass.

Anyone have a floor diagram? How close to the mechanical floors? Will the construction of those be somewhat different from the other floors?

they are still at 78th floor height of columns 964'-4"
when they add the next columns for 79th & 80th floor it will be
991'-0". maybe starting tomorrow. will it make this a supertall now?
