exactly...anyone who has tried to leave after the marathon knows what a bottleneck it causes....and that aint no 35000 people.
it isnt the parking its the access thats the problem....two small roads that terminate in red lights on the same large road.....i really believe it will cause some people not to go to bomber games...people say that we will adapt, but part of that will not be carpooling, it will be staying home.
people complained about MTS Centre but they were idiots...75000 people come to and leave downtown at the same time every day.....that is not the case here.
there are several examples of bad locations for sports facilities having a substantial negative impact on attendance.....sunrise florida, glendale arizona.
it isnt a slam dunk that people will go to games come hell or high water in the long term....die hards will, but the fringe fans that make a franchise successful might not if it is too much hassle.
if it takes an hour to get there, 6:30 weekday starts are going to be tough.
the canada packers site proposal had a direct access to lagimodiere (lower right) from the site as well as several other roads that led away from it in other directions......it was also central in the city.
