I love the way Park Row and Beekman line up in that shot. Like Traynor was saying in T1's thread, maybe the T2 and the Hub should have switched spots. Might have made that particular corner more airy. Oh well, awesome progress on what we have nonetheless.

It would have made more sense to me. With the shorter Post Office building across Vesey Street, the Church grounds across Church Street and the future Performing Arts Center across Greenwich... The Hub could have stood out with its own space and 2WTC could mirror it from behind.

Oh well.

Great scott, the look of that truss is shocking. The angle of those columns seems completely random. I understand the reason for it, but it still looks like Lord Foster popped a few 'shrooms before he did that part. It is very hard to believe that they are actually going to leave those columns permanently at that angle and even harder to imagine how that whole part is going to fit together with the rest of the below grade levels.

^It reminds me of the set of the Battlestar Galactica remake of a few years ago.

It's not random though. The base of the A frames is a series of columns that are curved around the roadway. The top of the frames are several columns which, due to the notch in the the design of the tower, aren't in-line with each other either.

It's interesting watching all of that take shape. It will be forgotten once we're at street level or the building rises, but for now, there it is for all the world to see.

Thanks for the clarification STR. Those drawings are amazing; I haven't seen them before on this site, and they really help to visualize how everything will fit together. The second one appears to show the A-frame columns and the last one shows the course of the VSC roadway through there.

Also, I finally get why the concrete pours on the east side of the Calatrava seem to be at such a weird angle. And in the second drawing, you can see how he did a great job of providing quick pedestrian access to all the towers. There are direct passageways to towers 2, 3 and 4, and it seems there is even a corridor heading off northwest towards tower 1, which I hadn't realized.

Based on this render at least, Tower 2 IS 1429 ft to the top of the pinnacle...

I would be careful about trying to jude height based on a rendering. I do wish the glass were as shiny though.

Does anyone know what happened to the KPI TV that had pictures of the WTC site every few hours. I enjoyed being able to monitor the progress of 2 and 3 WTC from this vantage point.
