To the east of these they are also going to construct buildings in the shape of an H (for Hill), kind of like those huge towers in Kuala Lumpur.

Ok, I'm just BS'ing..

Do you have a source?

I would say I have heard it from at least 4 separate sources. Some say they heard from the developer and some from the restaurant. All are a bit old and things can change but I doubt they would build that building on spec. (i.e. without a tenant).

The Milton Heights project is moving slowly along. It will be nice to see this refreshed, but I still think is was a collossal waste of taxpayer money to spend so much updrading these suites rather than building any actual new low-income units. This was supposed to be part of the stimulus plan from the 2008 recession. I hardly think the Regina construction industry needs stimulating in 2011. This jsut proves how inefficient these programms are.

Just for fun, can someone render tower three, mirror it, and place it on the tower 4 site?

The skyline will be changing...that's for sure!

With regards to the GoR, I find it very surprising they are using comfree, since they had previously been using a Realtor to help sell the units...hmmm!
Last winter, I ran into a gentleman whom also stated that FCC and Harvard were negotiating about another FCC tower. Where it is to be located --- I don't know. The original plan for the FCC Tower (then was the CIBC) was for it to have an 11-storey twin adjacent to the south. Hopefully now the altitude of the second tower will have been increased significantly!

Looks like a new store is opening where Momentum used to be. There are also signs saying the front of the Cornwall will now be smoke free. Yay to both pieces of good news!

Yay to the smoke free! As for the store, it's not new, so don't get too excited.

Are you referring to the 11th Ave entrance to the mall?

I can't say as it's confidential, but it's simply an existing store in the mall who is moving out there temporarily.

Well that's disappointing... I was hoping for something new... but in any case, my guess is Below the Belt. If I remember hearing correctly I think they are supposed to be expanding their store into the space vacated by Spare Parts, so it would make sense that they have to move to new digs in the mall until the changes are complete. If there is truth to the rumour anyway.

They have erected the second of the 4 large lights at City Square plaza. Also the have installed the first lateral piece on the fake shade trees on the norht side. Interestingly it apppears to be stainless steel or aluminum rather than the corton steel they appeared to be in the renders.

The crossbars in the shade screens never were corten steel, they were aluminum, the new project manager has had the aluminum powder coated in a few different earth tones. They should look really good.

Cool, that should help with the contrast with the stainless steel light sabres. These screens will definitely be unique. The lateral sections did look like corten steel in the old renders.

Yes Below the Belt will be expanding but it's not them that is relocating.

That said, the reason said store is moving outside temporarily is because a new store is moving into their old spot. But again, nothing too exciting. At least not for me.

There's an article on the Leader Post website tonight about splitting lots. A resident in Lakeview (which is zoned for 50' lots) wants to split his property into 2 x 25' lots, build on one and sell the other. (The article is odd; it starts talking about him not affording renovations, yet in the same article it talks about new construction so I'm not sure what the current state of the lot is.)
