A bit of a random, however, the video shows 1WTC in the background through out the entire video. Hence, I though it would be worth sharing.

their working on floors 73 and 74 and also on the east side of the building they have glass up to the 30th floor

Here's a couple of pics I took while passing by Goldman Sachs Tower in Jersey City

The view from Jersey is amazing. It sure is going to be quite a sight when the WTC is completed

You know, people can view this thread more than once genius. Many have been here several thousand times over the years. There are often over 5,000 viewings in a week.

i totally agree, i mean i my self view this thread an average of 10 times a day.

Back on Topic--- I went to the site to see One World Trade Center and the building is HUGE. I mean when I tried looking at the current top of the building, I had to arche my back and look up to the fullest to see the top.

How many floors do you (i.e. you guys) think there will be on the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks? The original goal was to have the tower fully completed by 9/11/2011 but of course that's not going to happen.

On World Trade Center Progress they mention that One World Trade Center would be at floor 85 on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Since each floor is 13'4 feet high then One World Trade Center would be 1105 feet tall or around there on 9/11 if my math is correct. That should tell most people how tall the building would be at on 9/11 and what floor it would be at. So basically on the 9/11 anniversary One World Trade Center would already be at the height to be labeled a supertall, but the steel will still have to rise another 263 feet to have all the floors completed and it will need to go up 671 feet if you count the mast on the roof which would bring it to 1776 feet.

Wow! That's excellent process! I wonder when it will be "topped-out" though? Like when will it finally reach the top?

Well to be honest with you and I think every one can agree with this, is that no one for sure not even the Port Authority knows exactly when Tower 1 WTC will be toppled out. BUT. I will give a estimate and my estimation is mid febuary.

The Port Authority expects One World Trade Center to be topped out anywhere between December 2011 to January 2012. The glass installation is expected to be completed on December 2012.

But isn't the official Top Out when it reaches it's ultimate height of 1776' and not just the top out of the steel? That would put T/O well passed January 2012.

Topping off a building means when the roof of the building is laid, and not the mast. If it was the mast that counted then the original One World Trade Center would have had been topped off on 1977, but that isn't true, because it was topped off on 1972 when the roof was complete, and that would have had made the original 2 World Trade Center as a building that was never topped off which isn't true.

It will be a while until it's done, but please keep taking pictures of 1 World Trade Center under construction. Once she is complete you can no longer take any picture of her under construction which might end up being rare, or treasured someday like the original World Trade Center construction pictures, and that doesn't just include 1 World Trade Center. There are many more including 2, 3, 4, and 5 World Trade Center which will all be future treasures.

You might want to rethink logic as a career. The antenna on the original was just an added on antenna. And the thing about number two is stretching even that nonsense too far.

Well, it'd better top out before 12/21/12...

The "spire" on this one will look a lot better than the antenna from the old tower.
