I believe that's the SE corner (where there is still a beautiful Victorian mansion) that is shown blank on the site model. Can anyone verify?

You're right. That tree-lined street must be Charlton.. I was looking at it as though that were Robinson.

Thanks for the clarification. I think that Underground Garage Entrance is there the Thistleclub loading dock used to be. I remember it kinda looked like a prison yard! lol Old stone walls, raggedy wires hanging, overgrown grass.. lol

^^ Funny.. the Ad (this mag is circulated in the GTA, not Hamilton) doesn't have any mention of All-Day GO service? I thought that was the only reason developers were building downtown Hamilton (or did Bratina mean Vranic only?)

Yet, there is no mention of LRT either.
However, there are ads for condos along/near the Eglinton corridor which are advertising "LRT at your front door!" .. and it's not even under construction yet.

Oh Bratina.. brainwashed by the wrong crowd :s

They've already got site plans to start Phase II, the building will face Charlton St.

For the Toronto condo market, LRT is a definite selling point, particularly on Eglinton. After a 20-year delay from its original proposal, the line is finally being built. From what I understand, construction of the launching area for the Eglinton LRT's drilling machines has begun. Of course drilling was started once before but was filled in after a change in government put the Conservatives in Queen's Park, resulting in cutbacks on public transit projects.

Proximity to public transit likely isn't seen as enough of a selling point to warrant featured space in print advertising for the City Square project.

^ So what you're telling me is that Investors do indeed line up for proposed LRT routes once all details have been worked out? Gotcha!

..too bad we've suspended our LRT office which was working out those exact details.

Actually, what I said is that for Toronto condo market, LRT is a definite selling point. If the same was true here, condo developers would have been focusing development along the proposed B-line. However, none of the condo developments currently planned or underway in Hamilton are near the proposed B-line. Action speaks louder than words.

Some would consider the entire lower-City as part of the B-Line route, due to it's density.. but I digress

edit: BTW, this wasn't meant to be a TO LRT vs Ham LRT debate.. was supposed to show that LRT is indeed a selling point.

Drove past the site today and there is a pretty good hole in the ground I would say 8-10 feet down already. Looks like work is moving right along!

They have made decent progress in 2 days laying that rebar. I was by there today and was quite happy to see what had been donw, last time I walked by about a month ago it was still just a hole in the ground.

The have started selling tower two of the development. Good sign of a demand for Condo,s Downtown. I would love to to know places that the folks buying these are coming from. I hope the sucess of this as well as Urban West Proves to other investors that Downtown Hamilton is a great place to invest.
