Wow, just wow, I am soooo happy I am in Europe for this.

What the fuck?

Honestly, i just woke up to see the Canucks lose, that was bad, but then i see all this bullshit?????

Also, it angers me to see the commentators on here putting all the blame on people from the burbs, sorry guys, but the same % of asshole exists downtown and throughout the majority of Vancouver that is akin to a burb as well (anything outside of the downtown core).

Ij just happens that nearly 75% of mentro Vancouver's population lives outsdie of Vancouver (and 90%+ outside of the downtown core) so if those #s coincide with where the rioting assholes are from, well then that would make sense. And having everyone conjugate downtown in such events is part of being the centre of a metro area.

Of course there is absolutely no reasoning these idiots. Fucking retards!

I really wish the police could use more force but sadly the media and the human rights crowds have completely neutered our police force to act appropriately in these situations.

Fucking terrible. We need some good stiff penalties for these losers!

There's a car on fire in Surrey. It might be starting to spread...

Mob mentality makes people idiots or most likely in this case bigger idiots.

If they don't get a fire engine down there soon, it looks like the historic Hudson Bay Building is going to catch fire.

This is the most hardcore looking fire so far, and there is no sign of the police.

If the Bay catches fire, that could potentially be a huge blow to traffic flow into downtown (Granville Stn)

I don't know if that would have been a go choice in this case. A lot of the shit is going down close to the skytrain stations and there could be a lot of collateral damage to people just trying to get out of this mess. I doubt that we will see the city try and host crowds this large again.

It's fine as long as you know for sure that such crowds aren't going to cause trouble like this. i.e. family events in downtown.

Damn people in the crowd that are just hanging out to watch. They may not think that they are making thing worse but they do!

edit: A mob is not a spectator sport. you are either in it or not.

Given the images of all the idiots on their phones (no doubt egging each other on), why haven't service providers been asked to jam all cel service?

The fires are more spectacular, but 94 seemed far worse than this. It seems like the police are doing a good job of tactfully dispersing the crowd...so far.

by niamhsays via twitter at 1:18 PM

Seriously? Wow! The Lower Mainland has some serious pricks.

Chanel and LV have been looted.
