Potential office tower in Buckhead?

http://www.bisnow.com/atlanta_news_story.php?p=15241

The site is the 5-story building directly across the side street next to 3344 Peachtree. David Tennery of Regent Partners' says, “We want to put the site into play sooner rather than later."

I like that name. It wont be used at all and that area will still just be called Buckhead. Fits in with the new direction of integration rather than an island of luxury set apart.

Does anybody remember if the refurbished W in Midtown replaced it's windows. Early Saturday morning two women fell through a window from the 10th floor. One died, the other is in critical but stable condition at Grady. She reportedly had to undergo facial reconstruction. The story is very strange, the APD isn't investigating the windows. Instead they're investigating whether or not there was criminal activity going on in the room. Someone is trying to avoid a lawsuit. I won't be staying at a W anytime soon.

I'm not an expert on window strength.

That said, I always figured I couldn't smash through a hotel window even if I tried.

OTOH, "play fighting" also sounds like bullshit.

Indoor Ski Resort

I have heard from someone that the indoor ski resort (which will supposedly be the largest in the world) that was proposed in Cartersville is moving forward. I'm not sure when construction would begin. Does anyone think this will happen?

there was a myth busters about it and it was found that it is possible to run through an office window so dont even try running at a hotel window you will probably kill yourself

I think the location has changed multiple times, but now the preferred location is next to Red Top Mountain in Catersville. Who knows if it will end up happening though...but it would be nice to only have to drive around one hour to going skiing in Atlanta compared to five hours driving to North Carolina.

Very true, there was also a story about this on 1000 Ways to Die. Nothing about the story makes any sense. Either the people that were supposedly in the room that night, the hotel or the city for approving faulty windows, somebodies at fault. Her friend will tell what happen, which is why I think she needs 24 hour surveillance until she gives her side of the story. We don't want people tampering with the evidence.

W Hotel Accident

My girlfriend works with the sister of the girl who is in the ICU and a regular who frequents the restaurant is a lawyer and knows a lot of details about this case, Supposedly the glass wasnt built to safety standards and the two ladies leaned up on the glass and the glass popped through. But this is pretty serious and I'm sure there is a lot of speculation going on right now but I'm sure this will be a major case and increase safety standards for glass in highrises in Atlanta
