The casino should have done this.

Distraction is one of the best political tools out there.

Lots of interesting stuff happens late on days prior to long weekends, etc.

Though for this one, I think they may have just been lucky on their timing. The true NIMBY's probably won't care about the Nuckers though!

I haven't heard much opposition to Telus's plans for Telus Garden, compared with other projects like the Casino/

Wow! that model looks great! I wish they would start building things of that quality here.

What is it with Vancouver and having boxes sticking out of buildings? it seems to be becoming popular there.

Thanks for posting.

Personally, I'd rather see a sleeker design. It all looks very "busy".

The condo tower is probably the first in recent memory with wrap-around balconies.

The Aquilini proposals around GM Place all have wrap-around balconies... though in their case I believe they're pushing for a relaxation of the 8% GFA exemption due to the arena footprint being calculated into the land area.

The condo tower looks hideous. It's very counterintuitive how most of Vancouver's new tallest buildings (Patina, Capitol, Fairmont, Woodwards, Telus etc) also happen to be some of the fattest proportionally (compared to mid-size towers like West Pender Place or HG3)... it really throws off the scale of the skyline.

Those balconies are absurd and could make this building the most un-urban building in all downtown.

It's hard to believe that this building is being proposed for downtown, let alone the downtown core.

It's not going for rezoning today, today was the udp. Rezoning should be this summer.

Will that mean you will stop complaining?

I still am not a huge fan of the residential tower, but its growing on me a bit.

The balcony-riddled west side of this building is ridiculous. It's not fit for Surrey, let alone the downtown core of a supposed world-class city.

Exit Question: Is there any part of this building that isn't being suffocated by a balcony?

I have to agree, if the balconies were less prominent ala Capitol it might be better, or if this tower was in the West end, but for bordering the CFD its just tacky and silly.

I like it, especially the side on Richards. Count me down as not being bothered by the balconies.

Why the hate for balconies? If I were ever to buy a condo, balconies are a must, and a wrap around would be amazing!

I would hate to be 20, 30 stories up and to never be able to be outside.
