If you are looking to buy cheap gear, then yes go ahead.

Stick with Nikon or Canon for quality.

Go with Nikon or Canon. You can get the Nikon D3100 and a zoom lens for that price.

I'm sure the Pentax is a fine camera, but there are tons more options in lenses and accessories for Nikon and Canon. Also, if you decide later to upgrade or sell, you'll get some of your money back with the Nikon and Canon stuff. Nobody will want to buy the used Pentax stuff.

That camera is way out of date by now compared with actual recent technology out there. Not to mention it has incredibly slow shutter response compared to actual quality technology. But it seems like you're just looking for a bargain rather than the real deal, so go ahead.

YEAH, what they said.

Its an okay deal but you would eventually have to upgrade everything later on. Pentax does not have any high end gear. I would say if you wan to go cheap at least get sony. Then you can get sigma and zeiss lens if you eventually get more money. pentax is very limited.

And as mentioned there are nice canon and nikon options for close to the same price.
