In fact, I think I'll start a thread on that.
Ugh. This has become horribly disrespectful. Its not about being better or worse. Its not "better" that 3000 people senselessly died. 9-11 scarred thousands of families, a city, and a nation. I highly doubt any victim or their family would consider a redecoration of the skyline as a value for their life or the life of a loved one, let alone 3000 fold.

This thread exists because this city, the US government, and the people of New York think that rebuilding the site is part of a national catharsis, of healing. The business community values replacing lost office space as part of the business of making one of the most valuable pieces of real estate in the world profitable. Lets be thankful that we are rebuilding in a way that dignifies this city and its victims, and not talk about peoples lives as if mass murder was under consideration as a mechanism for improving the skyline.

I know it's an optical illusion, but I LOVE the appearance of the ESB's spire/antenna perched atop Goldman Sachs. Just step back and imagine if that optical illusion were one building, if Goldman Sachs really had a spire like that. I mean... how friggin' AWESOME!!! Really gives the building some character, almost like it's transplanted out of Perth or Melbourne.

Too bad for optical illusions...

Amazing image, I love it. I just love it when NY turns blue at night- and that's gonna make the freedom tower look awesome.

I too am sorry about this. He was a major contributor to this site, but more importantly, being who he was in the real world. A father, husband and the whole works. May God speed his love.

Obviously it won't be the same, with the new buildings, but it definitely won't be worse. We'll just have to wait and see if it will be better or not with the new buildings. Once they're done it'll be better than it is now.

That's sad to hear. RIP Zen.

A news article interviews one of the workers of WTC and shows off an awesome view from inside the tower, although it's a bit dated.

Cincinnati.com

I can only imagine what it'll be like as an office worker having this view.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Zen's tragic loss. He and I butted heads on many occasions on these sites, but in private messages had become good friends.

Although no one has officially died so far in the construction of these towers, I will never be able to think of them that way again. We have lost a friend, a teacher, a mentor and a buddy.

You were so proud of these towers. Their design, their construction and most importantly you were so proud of all the people involved in their construction. No one wanted to see these towers finished more than you and I hope someone in New York will lay some flowers at the memorial in your name when they are done.

My thoughts are with your family and I wish they find the solace they deserve in this tragic time.

God bless you Chris, I will miss you.

Mitchell
