it looks bad to blame the refs for this one, but i haven't seen such awful officiating in a long time. way to give the hawks a time out on an icing, or not calling bolland for a blatant two-handed slash. disgusting.

Not to mention the hit to the head on Bieksa.

Maybe they should have returned the favour on Bolland and/or Seabrook (both have fragile heads).

Games 4 and 5 could be chalked up to a terrible all-around effort, but tonight the only real weakness was goaltending. I thought putting Schneider in was the right move, but my goodness he was terrible. Goals against on two dumb mistakes that effectively cost Vancouver the game. I hope Lu gets game 7.

And yeah, the reffing sucked. Again.

So would you bet all your life savings on that statement.

While I would love to have the faith you have. The problem I have is that the Canucks could play their best game ever and have the control of the game for 99% of the game. And yet they could still loose because of some fracked up bounce here or there.

Killing nearly two minutes of two man disadvantage wasn't redemption enough?

Yeah, he coughed up the puck while behind the net on one goal, but what was the other dumb mistake? The penalty shot? I figure that was an injury he could do little about.

The first Chicago goal, where he just about got Hamhuis killed with a bad pass behind the net, and then put himself in a terrible position to stop a rather poor shot from Bickell.

Anyways, it's probably irrelevant now because Lu is almost certainly starting on Tuesday. If he plays like he did in game 1 and the rest of the team plays like they did tonight, it's in the bag. Theoretically, anyways. Like cabotp said, a few bad bounces can ruin everything, which is why it's so infuriating that the team pissed away their margin of error in games 4 and 5.

The Canucks deserved to win Game 6. They fought hard but as is consistent year after year, our goalies were not up to shape when we needed them most. Sure, Schneider made some amazing stops but his rookie mistakes cost us two goals.

As well, Luongo's introverted antics in Game 6 does not help the core fabric of the team. Him not having confidence in himself is making the rest of the team lack confidence in him. Having him start in Game 7 is of no choice, and the added pressure of playing in front of Vancouver's fans is going to wane on his ability as a goaltender and likely cost us the series.

Where to begin?

The boys played well tonight. They deserved a better result (like...a win). But it's done and over with. Tuesday night will be epic, it'll be huge. I'm torn about the goaltending. Putting Schneider is a lot of pressure on the rookie. Luongo - I'm not sure. His psyche is SO fragile at the moment against this team. If he surrenders the first goal, it's going to be hard to climb back into it. If Chicago scores quick back to back goals against Luongo - expect the pressure to mount, because the fans will not stand for it. Being boo'ed on the road - meh - you expect that. Being boo'ed at home. Now that's going to be tough to take. AV has some very difficult choices to make. We could and should have won this game, if it were not for Schneider's rookie mistakes.

But AV has basically told Luongo, that he doesn't trust him in big games. If Luongo doesn't have confidence in himself, the D is going to overcompensate for certain things, and maybe even Lu himself will overcompensate (just like...apparently, past years, where he didn't have "faith" in his D). Maybe it's the D, who doesn't have confidence in Luongo. I'd be okay if Schneider started game 7. Mike Gillis has got to help Luongo with his psychological breakdowns against the Hawks. Man. for a guy who's being paid 10 mil a year - this kind of performance is unacceptable.

12 years with Luongo. I guess, that means, we won't be winning the Cup any time soon.

It should be a no brainer that Luongo will start, considering Schneider came off a debilitating leg injury and had to be carried off the ice.

It was a leg cramp from dehydration, not an injury. Schneider has had this occur in the AHL as well. The staff would have recognized it when it occurred.

thank you Mike Gillis. you said what pretty much every canuck fan has been thinking the past few games (especially about game 6).
