A small update to supplement the Gaoler's Mews photos from the other day.

An effective subversive counter-poster campaign is under way against the fear mongering posters resisting change in the DTES and Chinatown.

Portland Hotel Society put up this sign in the Concord Pacific owned lot that it is trying to give the City as part of a package of goodies in exchange for getting out of Concord's commercial density requirement on their sites at the Cambie bridgehead.

Um isn't there credit on the photo? Also throw CTV, Global and all other media into the mix for not crediting forummers

Meh, moving on...The Canucks opened up a team store in time for the playoffs today. Walked by it, was full. Would have taken a photo but my phone is from 2007

Hmmm...looks a little like a streetfront of an Apple Store. I'm intrigued with this given the spiral staircase going downstairs. An underground Apple Store has worked quite well for NYC and would give Apple plenty of logo advertising space on a prime office tower street -- sortof like their Sydney, Australia location.

The fly-throughs by this firm are unbelieveably stupid, especially when it comes to what parts of the "architecture" they focused on, like the signage pylon for IKEA

I wouldn't support cluttering up this section of Georgia with at-grade retail.

I'm intrigued by what appears to be a fully framed roof. Looks like if they have any trouble leasing out the restaurant space the patio can easily be enclosed by just laying down some glass.

Anybody knows what is happening to the white building on the East side of Abbott/Cordova, next to Jules in Gastown? It is undergoing major renovations at the moment.

It's being restored, it was supposed to happen last year. It received funds from the city's fascade rehabilation fund.

Did anyone notice in the fly-through that one of the shots has an actual Apple Store logo hanging in the front? In the rest it is not there.

That staircase is so Apple too. Either they are trying to make it look like an Apple Store or it is one.

It's the former.

Brookfield would love to have Apple at that location, but ain't gonna happen.

Cadillac Fairview owns The Station (Waterfront Station) - so they may own the parking lot to the east, which ay be redeveoped.
