That Adobe Campus is much bigger than I expected it to be, I figured two 3-5 story typical office park boxes, connected by a skybridge. As far as suburban office buildings go, this is by far one of the better ones.

While I do like the design, I only wish instead of having 3 buildings they could of had only 1 or 2 taller buildings.

You guys like that design? Uggh.. I think it's hideous. Looks like the ASB at BYU. Hopefully it will look nicer in real life.

It would appear that there were some strict height covenants entered in to for this project. After all there is a lot of luxury housing above this park. The views are stunning, and I would imagine that part of the commercial development requires that the views are not blocked.

I like the design, but I just don't like the concentration of large development there. It will further draw from the core areas of Provo and SLC and draw more sprawl out to Eagle Mountain/Cedar Valley, and thus further create environmental problems.

ok. Thanks. I do remeber seeing the building on campus and thinking that that building and the others built at about the same time were actually really good designs, IMO. I like them alot, actually.

IMO, it's much better than the 3 to 5 story crap that has been built out there. It's much more contemporary and innovative looking than those half attempts of architecture to be modern with classical pedminents, and motifs (some of the worst architecture being built in Utah, IMO).

Thanksgiving Point is certainly one of the more obvious examples, but these tacky buildings with fake classical elements tacked on front are located all over the Wasatch Front.

Or that awful new private school (Maeser Academy, I think) going up just off of 1600N in Orem. I saw it in December when going down to visit the in-laws. I almost lost my lunch. My first thought was that somebody was building a BYU-inspired theme park. They recreated the facade of BYU's stately Maeser building and tacked it onto a horrible stucco box.

I knew what he was referring to. It bothers me that the comment "some of the worst architecture being built in Utah" was made. I'm guessing this type of architecture is in the burbs all over the country.

I'm sure it is. He didn't say Utah had the worst architecture in the nation, though. He just said this type is the worst in Utah.

I've seen a lot worse. I hate stucco pilasters and glorified keystones as much as the next guy, but at least those buildings lack the stark prison-like look and feel of a lot of new buildings (e.g. Olympus Junior).
