Sounds like occupancy will be starting in a couple of weeks on this one.
Have to say it'll be odd having only one tower u/c in Coal Harbour and in just over a year nothing.
Wonder how long the Whitespot and that surface lot will last.

Speaking of sites in the west end, does anyone know what's up with lot at the corner of Robson and Broughton? http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&hq=&hnea...jRs_z1IPmCm1PlqA&cbp=12,355.74,,0,-13.52

I've never heard any talk about anything going in there...

Haha! I always mention that site to people! I have always wondered about it as well.

I am starting to think maybe that Maple Tree owns it, the lands was left to it in some crazy dying man's will, hehe.

My only guess is maybe there use to be a gas station there and the land still isn't fully decontaminated??

I don't know for sure, but the rumour I've always heard is that the owner wanted to be allowed to rezone for a building like the Landmark across the street but new zoning doesn't allow it so him being stubborn said he won't build anything there until the city changes it's mind. Pretty sure there no truth to it though as the property taxes over the years would've been able to convince even the stubbornest person that waiting wasn't worth it.

Great shots Hank!

Thanks Metro and Jlousa for the info about the Robson/Broughton site. Sounds like a bit of a mystery...

Thanks. Hope the links are working now. I figured this weekend might be the last time we see it with all of the lights on.

could be - i heard it was owned by a hong kong billionaire who doesn't want to develop it and he is so rich it doesn't matter to him that it sits empty
whatever it is its owned by someone offshore

Ain't that the truth. You will be lucky to see any tower in Vancouver occupied 50% at any give time.
Not to many lights on here in CH.

Changed thread to Completed as occupancy has been granted. The building turned out great. Walked by on Friday morning and was really impressed with the sidewalk treatment of the building. The Pender sidewalk is terrific, and the water features at both ends look great as well. Think this one is deserves a lot of credit.
