I ride the #351. Where can I find a more extensive look at the improvement to those buses ? I looked everywhere on Translink's website but no luck.

Well, in short:
- A few more buses added in the morning peak to Bridgeport.. You can compare with existing schedule from White Rock Centre: 6:00a, 6:18a, 6:33a, 6:41a, 6:50a, 6:57a, 7:06a, 7:13a, 7:22a, 7:28a, 7:37a, 7:45a, 7:53a, 8:01, 8:09a, 8:17a, 8:25a, 8:40a, 8:53a
- A few extra service from Bridgeport to Crescent Beach during morning peak
- Every 12 minutes service from Bridgeport (instead of every 15 minutes): 3:00p, 3:12p, 3:24p, 3:36p, 3:48p, 4:00p, 4:12p, 4:24p, 4:36p, 4:48p, 5:00p, and everything is the same after that
- One extra evening trip added at night Monday-Sunday, so the new evening schedule from Bridgeport: 9:40p, 10:00p, 10:30p, 11:00p, 11:50p, 12:50x, 1:40x

So.. who said NOF gets all the improvements and SOF gets all the cuts? I'm sure Burnaby, New West, and Vancouver really wants Surrey, White Rock, and Delta to break out of Translink and get their evening service back...

335 getting peak & mid-day improvements. It's a line that runs close to my house, so that's very good would really help Guildford travellers as well esp. those coming from Gateway. This stretch is absolutely a horrendous one for transit and traffic alike. Glad to see improvements are coming.

Not bad not bad. It's good that they are adding more buses for the morning and evening rushes. I mean, the buses we have now are just jam packed during those time.

During the midday, higher frequency is better, in my opinion, even though I understand there might not be enough demand from travelers. I wouldn't mind if they bring in smaller buses but more frequency in order to be efficient with scheduling and costs. Also, they should seriously consider bringing a bus that goes to Surrey or something along the 16th Ave.

The Changes to the #15 route have been planned for a while. It will run between Marine Drive Station & Broadway - City-Hall Station.
#17 is supposed to return to it's pre- construction route?

Any idea what the new #14 route will look like?

The #17 is its pre-construction route, but now terminates at downtown.

#14 is basically the UBC portion of #17 connected with Hastings portion of #10, with some minor service cut, of course...

Taking off some of those 388 buses (which are hardly ever filled according to members here) and sticking them on 96th Avenue for a new route that starts at King George and follows 96th through Walnut Grove into Langley Centre (as a low-frequency alternate to 501/502/320/etc.) would be a miracle for us Surrey & Langley residents.... just a thought

When does this take effect? As a student at UBC commuting from Richmond, this bus is like a lifeline. Cutting everything after bridgeport is going to affect a LOT of people, especially those that hop on in the mornings near steveston depot and those at night that depend on it to get to south richmond (myself included).

The schedule goes in effect on April 18th.. and yes, from looking at the new schedule, everything south of Bridgeport station gets deleted, including those depot runs to/from Steveston... So, you most likely have to transfer to the 403 to go south to Steveston...

Could it be that it's just for the summer term only? I would think come September, regular service would resume.

Isn't the 480 just a useless repeat of the 403 past there?
Unless the 403 doesn't run certain schedules of the 480 or the 480 is an express bus, I wouldn't consider it an awfully big concern. One more transfer, if buses run often, not an especially huge concern.

A big concern would definitely be Newton-Whalley. There are at least 4-5 buses in between that section and they are always filled 110% to capacity during peak hours - even during the non-peak sometimes. 335 improvements could be especially useful. Better: a proper Skytrain extension to there.

I would certainly hope that this is only for Summer schedule (even then, a large amount of people do take summer courses).

The 480 actually takes a route that is different from the 403 from Bridgeport to Richmond Centre. It loops around Lansdowne past Kwantlen down Garden City. I've seen many Kwantlen students hop on and off the bus as well.

I wouldn't be as concerned if more local feeder buses were connected to Bridgeport where it'll be terminating, but the problem is that quite a few of them don't (like the 401), so that means 2 transfers within Richmond alone.

Kind of on-off topic, but has the Canada Line hit the updated service hours yet? with slightly more frequent trains?

I think it would be better if they interline the 403 with 480... they pretty much have the same schedule through out the day... except the 403 runs every 7.5 minutes during morning peak while the 480 run every 10 minutes, but the loss in capacity can be offset by having articulated buses anyways...

And.. the closest match to the 480 route between Bridgeport and Brighouse is actually the 407, which runs hourly off-peak.. There's also a 430 express travel along the same route (stopping only at 2 stops), and it runs every 30 minutes.
