I agree. Enough with the divisive comments and more coming together to share our pride in something good happening.

Well, as long as you're "Sociably" Liberal...

Thank you for providing the perfect illustration of the conservative intellect!

FYI, if you're socially liberal, then you are definitely not politically conservative.

Back on topic... I was in NYC last week... was great to see the WTC complex rising. Does anyone have any idea if 1 WTC will have an exterior lighting scheme?

Hey Zen:

Are the nodes they are installing at the point where the vertical steel and the angled steel come together.

Exactly, then the column transitions to the angled face of the building.

Not really...MSNBC, yes. CNN? No. I think everyone knows that Fox News is completely and utterly out of control. It's so bad that it's almost on the level of what state-controlled propaganda must sound like. That's how far they go. You watch coverage of any topic and you'll see that the major networks and newspapers all carry about the same story, and then if you see that same topic on Fox News, the facts are different, the interpretation is different, the interviews and sources differ, and it's almost like you're reading or hearing about something completely different. Try that comparison sometime. It's a good exercise in critically receiving your news.

I read the NYTimes every day. They swing hard enough left that it almost makes up for Fox's antics. Almost.

In my opinion American news outlets are all hand fed information and then it's regurgitated back to us. We won't get the whole truth of anything listening to American media. I feel the only unbiased credible major news sources out there are Reuters, The BBC, and The UK Guardian.

You know, I was going to run thru a catalogue of stunning destruction and incompetence by the current maladministration of the "57 states"... but why bother?

The NYTimes is the best newspaper in the country. Their bias is minimal. I have no idea what you're smoking if you think that. The BBC and the Guardian's coverage are nearly identical to anything in the Times. And please stop saying that you won't get the whole truth by listening to American media. Saying something like that is a fad just as much as it is to say that, "oh, well I'm an independent"

This conversation needs to stop. I'm blown away the moderators haven't ripped it down yet. Conversations like these just make me angry and hate fellow Americans. I come here for skyscraper information, not to get pissed the hell off.

Thanks for the humor! We could all use a little chuckle. No doubt, you consider Keith Olbermann a model of fair mindedness and sober statesmanship.

My problem with Fox News is their tabloid format - for example, Fox & Friends in the morning is dumbed down to the point of confirming liberals' worst (self-projecting) caricature of conservatives. I wish Fox would do a more sane version of Morning Joe, hosted by somebody like Paul Gigot of the Wall Street Journal.

I guess NY Guy is taking a breather, huh? I honestly thought the last 30 or so posts would have been deleted by now

And now seriously - let's drop the politics crap. I come here to get away from politics; I get enough high blood pressure reading the political blogs.
