thats why i think they should build the mline extension first at least to cambie so it can be another transfer point and than do the evergreen line

The current B-Line isn't even up to B-Line service standards and is far away from reaching capacity.

tell that to my friend who has had to watch 2 b-line busses pass her up near commercial drive as she waits on broadway to get to granville street

Maybe deasine is referring to the Coquitlam B-Line? Since he refers to it not being up to b-line standards, and the b-line standard I would assume would be the original b-line aka the 99.

But to answer logan5's original question, nope, the 99 nor broadway station(not mention the broadway->downtown skytrain line) are ready for more passengers, not during peak times anyways, its a zoo! If even one train has issues, the station gets very crowded very fast.

"near commercial drive" sounds like the Clarke stop or the Fraser stop.
I'd tell my friend in the same situation to 'reverse commute' back to Commercial/Broadway & get on at the B-99 stop at Shoppers Drugs.

It's a pain to do this, but being the first stop of the B-99 run to UBC (and Granville) you're less likely to watch the full bus zip by.

However, being the SkyTrain and B-Line transfer point, the crowds will quickly fill the bus as soon as it arrives, so I have started to look east down Broadway to see if the next B-line bus is peeking around the corner and I'll wait for it instead of cramming into an already full bus. You can be the last one on a full bus, or be one of the first people on an empty bus with a better chance of getting a seat too. Care to guess my preference?

I've seen people jammed in the doorwell jump off and take the next one if they see it pulling up.

Now we need to wait for Christie to announce the new Cabinet & Transport Minister and have her tell the new Minister "Get 'er Done"

Construction on Evergreen can start tomorrow because 2/3 of the funding is already in place, and the rest of the funding can be sorted out this year.

I won't be surprised if this becomes a municipal election issue.

Meanwhile UBC Line consulting & planning can be completed to Phase II and the new Transportation Minister can get Phase III started. This may work in Christie's favour if it becomes an issue during her by-election if she runs in Point Grey. -- "I'm going to let the UBC Line consulting & planning process finish and make their recommendations to the Minister" which will conveniently happen _after_ the by-election.

Does anyone have any good pictures of the inside and/or outside of the Edmonds OMC? I'm looking to base a project off of the track layout and the switch to the main track..

I'm not sure if there is enough room on Broadway to run a proper BRT, but it looks like it could be done on Hastings.

With dedicated bus lanes in the median and signal priority, you could possibly come close to Skytrain type travel times. Maybe use articulated trolley buses as part of Hastings has the old express trolley wires.

You couldn't achieve Skytrain times because you can't achieve Skytrain speeds. Dedicated lanes and signal priority or not, you can't have buses blasting through intersections at 90km/h. The only way to get those speeds is with grade separation.

does anyone know what happenend to the canada line waterfront station today? apparently the police had the entrance shut down a while..

also they tweeted that after 11 pm tonight they will have 15 minute service along canada line, due to maintenance... is that normal?

Apparently from past site visits that maintenance has been going on in that area for awhile. Not sure why though.

There were articles in all of the newspapers a few weeks ago about Canada Line maintenance causing 15 minute frequency in evenings through the month of March. It was on the front page of some of the papers e.g. 24Hrs.
