Is this project considered finished yet?

They've covered the columns at grade with black granite strips - very narrow strips to wrap around the column. Looks good up close - but I can foresee a maintenance issue if the grout comes loose. The columns do, however, now overpower the canopy (which is also black).

The dark gray panelling next to the Thai restaurant looks good, and they've finished the glass musical panelling around the emergency exit door next to the Orpheum (looks good too).

It should start in late December. The first closings will happen before December 31st.

Then the rest will be phased from January - April.

Currently only preliminary inspections up to the 14th floor have taken place, though. Which means it's probably a few weeks behind.

Hey, it looks like they installed the piano keyboard pattern on the sidewalk.

The black on the columns appears at the upper levels of the podium too.

They've also installed cubes on the sidewalk - like at The Centre for the Performing Arts - so that people waiting in line can sit down.

The mechanical penthouse is now lit up at night - liooks pretty good.

Wow, they couldn't get more literal with the music theme...

The shitty window wall glazing on the ground level kinda negates any classiness the columns might have brought.

I bribed my way up to the top to my unit today before I leave town tomorrow. The building is shaping up great, I went in a completed suite and the quality is very nice. Nice plush carpets, marbles, granites, appliances... everything, really. So I'm quite excited to move in, in a few months

Heh, well, they are going for their occupancy permit tomorrow morning, and roughly 1/3 of the units are complete and have had walk-throughs. The higher floors probably won't be complete until March / April.

I still think Capitol's a fine addition to downtown, contrary to complaints otherwise. The odd contradictions from certain angles appeal to me.

Awesome - that view to the west is pretty secure - too bad about Paramount Place and the drab Wedgewood block.

Looks like the Georgia will give TD Tower a hat.

Shangri-La may block most of your view of the former Ritz-Carlton.
