Cool. I'll be seeing that when I see Manhattan from across the Hudson. 9 years ago, there was a view. 10 years later, there will be one back

I was going to ask the same question !
I'm working for architects (as many of us I guess) and I think your renders (materials) are really realists.
Great job !

Love 15 Penn in that last render. I'm still amazed at the mass that is Manhattan.

Time for all of you with questions to get at the Port Authority...
http://www.panynj.gov/wtcprogress/q_a_intro.cfm

Quote:
The Port Authority recently achieved a major milestone on One World Trade Center with the steel installation reaching the 52nd floor, half way to the top of the 104-floor tower. The tower has now risen to the 54th floor.

As One World Trade Center continues to go up at a rapid pace, the Port Authority invites the public to ask our program manager of construction, Lynda Tollner, any questions you might have about how the construction is proceeding.

Lynda will solicit your questions between January 10 and 17, and she'll provide answers to them on this Web site as a way of keeping you and others informed about work that's under way on the project and what will be coming in the future.

I have to say the building is turning out great but i am now tuning back to this thread daily for STR's renderings. Simply amazing. I love that they are so good that you can ACTUALLY get a genuine feel for how the city will look in a few years. Truly amazing.

As hard as it is to believe, it's even more amazing in person. I'm telling you a lot of people are going to be surprised. Looking at these renderings, then walking around the site, it feels like a large movie production taking place, where the renderings are actually brought to life scale.

Check out more of STR's renderings here...

Each week, AN plays tourist at the World Trade Center construction site. Here’s the latest.

Last night’s snowstorm was a dud when compared to the Boxing Day Blizzard. But a half hour walk around the WTC site reveals just how much extra work the weather can add to a day’s labor. By noon, workers were still shoveling out of the mess, removing snow laden tarps and generally slogging through the grayish black mess.

When returning to the site week after week, certain design elements begin to reveal themselves. Forms become more familiar and building outlines emerge.

It certainly is. Forget about the height, it will be notable for its beauty as well. A a few more pics.

Heh. I only post about 1/3 of the renders in this thread. The only place to get all of them are in the NYC2015 model thread.

Let me tell you, looking at that mockup, I must say it's obvious the FT will be the star of the show. The other towers are fine, but just can't match the distinctive obelisk shape and spire of the FT for iconic value. Childs truly outdid himself; he created a new masterpiece that will be every bit instantly identifiable with New York City as the original WTC ever was.
