I'd argue so is the second. The white balance is just a bit off. The reflectivity and transparency is spot on, it just needs to be a little cooler in color. The sun probably isn't in exactly the right place either.

When will it show up?

Hey Guys, looking at how much progress is being done, does anyone know when it will start to dominate Lower Manhattan? I know this year, but I just want to make sure when I come to the city through New Jersey,I see something.

amazing areal shots, really shows the scale of the whole project. this will be the most exciting year to follow progress on 1wtc (and of course 4wtc). no more delays, no more foundation/ base work- just going upwards.

Topping out ceremony at the One World Trade Center, New York

Quote:
One decade after 9/11, the last steel beam in the 1,776ft "Freedom Tower" designed by David Childs of SOM architects, is due to be levered into place just before next Christmas. Although the steel and glass construction won't be ready for occupation until 2013, the topping out ceremony will mark the very visible, and doubtless very emotional, architectural revival of this 16-acre site at the southern tip of Manhattan.

Finally got back to the Freedom Tower, and let me just tell you that the renderings don't do this building justice. It's on a pace to be one of the top buildings in Manhattan, and I'm not talking about the height. I'll have to post photos later (or maybe when I'm trapped inside with the inevitable storm approaching). In the meantime, a couple of clips.

My prediction for matching 7 WTC in height still seems alive.

Pfft, like the WTC itself, the renders are just getting started. And since everyone wants to see aerials..
