Here is the new Miami developments map http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/map...&z=13&status=1

23 proposed and under construction buildings are marked. Are any missing or are there other corrections which should be made?

How do you guys feel about the new Wells Fargo sign?

A lot of architects don't like signage because they think it ruins the lines of the building, especially when they don't know who the major tenant of an office tower will be or what the signage will look like, but I love this vista up Brickell Avenue.

Note there's no Wells Fargo signage on the north side of the building. Are they taking their own sweet time or do they anticipate a taller building being there one day?

Investors make a bet on downtown Miami, buying tower for $106 million
http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/12/2...-downtown.html

Quote:
Miami's brightest building is helping beat back some of the gloom hanging over the city's glutted office market, as Chicago investors make a big bet on downtown's return to boom times.

An affiliate of Jones Lang LaSalle recently paid $106 million for the 47-story Miami Tower, the 1987 building designed by I.M. Pei and famous for an exterior that changes color thanks to an elaborate lighting system. The price -- a 25 percent increase over its last sale in 2003 -- suggests renewed confidence in an office district suffering from depressed demand and too much supply...

^ that is good news that the Miami tower was able today be sold for a 25% profit from over 7 years ago! I guess with all of the new buildings downtown investors have confidence in downtown Miami.
X as for the new Wells Fargo sign I think it compliments the building nicely.

I like the Wells sign. Miami needs more colors and the sign adds some prominent dark yellow.

Miami needs much bolder architecture. You can only do so much with a blue balcony.

Thanks! Out of all the night shots I've taken so far, that is one of my favorites. It's like something out of Blade Runner or another sci-fi movie. And Bob, I prefer Q over X.

In this photo for instance, I love with way the gold plays off the blue at the top of Epic and the green off the top of Asia to the right, and yes, the sale of the Miami Tower is a sign of confidence in the future of Miami.

In this first of two shots taken on Christmas morning with my new tripod and timer set, you can see the Wells Fargo sign straight up Brickell Avenue from Hobie Island. The second shot was taken from Hobie Island as well farther up beneath the Rickenbacker Causeway.

Miami looks beautiful. I have never seen many Miami skyline pictures. I've been wondering if there was a lot of new construction going on this past decade. Or maybe the city has looked pretty much the same since then.

No, it's been real quiet down in Miami over the past decade as far as new construction goes.

You must have misspoken! We just had one of the biggest building booms in history and the skyline changed radically over the past decade.

^^^^

(Jaw drops to the floor)

Thanks for the visual. That is very impressive. I remember Mom watching Latin novelas, and lots of them took place in Miami. I always liked the shots they took of the skyline and the long bridges Miami is known for. That was years and years ago. From what I could recall, the skyline was big but not as big as I have seen now. I couldn't remember well though, but now I see that things have changed dramatically.

I was just being sarcastic.

We've been through the topic of Miami's unprecedented skyline transformation on this forum (including in this very thread) too many times to count. In fact, I believe that 1998 shot you posted has been used on this thread and others a number of times for comparison.
