I'm starting to think that while the FT may not be the tallest supertall in the world, it is going to be the most beautiful one built since the Chrysler Building.

What a tragedy this view from Brooklyn will forever be stained by that hideous Gehry creation.

I see a pane on the 24th floor, west side of the building.

While all opinions are valid, I'm afraid you're quite in the minority on that one, at least on this forum.

i looked at Bucktowns pictures and was amazed at what an addition to the skyline the "hideous Gehry creation" was and then read your post. hey, it's America and everyone is entitled to their own opinion but seriously?? that building is amazing ......... when 1WTC gets higher hopefully, for your sake, your eyes will be trained on that and not notice the Beekman

I don't mean to get off topic, but seriously? You point out the Beekman as being hideous, yet the Verizon stands tall and atrocious but you don't even mention it... I think something wrong with you.

I agree with you. Not only that, it will be the strongest. Most of the public does not even know what idea of new technology was put into constructing this massive tower! Has anyone seen the picture that someone posted on this on here of part of the base where a truck is parked here by? - wow!! BIG. Sadly, like many, I had many doubts on this tower, but it is looking really big. It looks like the twin towers put into one. Now that is amazing! I cannot wait to see this in the summer or winter of 2011!!!!

Damn, the steel guys are really hitting their stride. This tower is gaining four or five floors every time I blink.

David Childs clearly designed One World Trade Center after an obelisk, this is why this tower emits out such an elegant fusion of modernity along with classical characteristics.

The facade is like water from a tropical paradise suspended in place covering the steel out of respect for the victims of 9/11.

The facade glass curtain wall is looking ridiculously beautiful. It would appear that once tenants move in, they will be visible right thru the glass! The comings and goings of people will be part of the facade
