The bullshit with my flickr stats continues (I'm sure everyone is interested) I just had a photo rack up 778 views in a day, that makes 3 photos with combine views of 1464, all from unknown sources and not 1 comment on all 3.This whole stupidity is beyond my comprehension anyone have any theories or explanation?

It could be a blog or something. I've had that happen to me a few times. A link didn't show up in my flickr stats, but I found the source after googling my name. One of the reasons I watermark my photos is to see where my photos end up.

it has to either be a glitch or them messing with you. theres no way you could get 1400 views and no comments. this has never happened on my free account.

I've got a photo almost at 1,000 views with one comment. Most of the views are coming from canadian woodworking. Someone was looking for the garbage bins that look sort of like lobster traps and linked my photo into a thread. It gets around a view a day almost every day and had a couple of days of around 100 views. Only one comment, which didn't originate from anyone on the woodworking site.

I usually get about 100 views a week in total on flickr and usually about 0.01 comments. Now, my blog on the other hand does great since I get about 1 view a day and about six comments from spammers of questionable material.

I've also gotten quite a few hits from sites that seem to only republish streams of flickr photos on particular subjects. I'm betting it's one of those sites blocking their origin. I'll routinely get 30 or so views from a seemingly odd photo on a given day.

see you could figure out why it your account is getting views. johns problem is much different. and you got a comment. not 1400 views in a day and no comment from unknown source.

B&H is having a special on d90s! If you buy a D90 you get discounts on lenses!

We're ordering the D90+18-105vr package and a 70-300vr which gets a 200 dollar discount! yay! It's all gonna come out to 1258 which is a really good deal imo! and i'm giving mother my first paycheck (which should bet between 450 and 550 bucks) and she pays off the rest, which is my christmas present!

i'm so excited!

I have a photo with 17,727 views. I checked the stats and most of the views are coming from reddit.com. Somehow, it made it into Explore, which is odd because I only put it in one, small group.

cool. that's about $500 cheaper than i paid 18 months ago.

Your "pitiful" Sony A200 has turned out some amazing shots. While the technical aspects and your gear are important, the person wielding the camera is the most important aspect. I have classmates who have the same camera I do, or even better cameras, but they can't do anything except auto, whereas you could probably take something better with a Coolpix. That said, you would definitely be able to ramp up your game with a D90.

As for me, I already bought my Christmas present: a large Quantaray DSLR backpack. I'm also saving for either a fisheye or a zoom lens (that'll take forever).

Thought this would be the best place to post this so here goes.

I need a new camera. What would be a good camera between 200-650 dollars? (American) I'm ditching my old camera and I want a new camera that's not too expensive but yet still good for a beginner.

Any ideas?

I would like a DSLR camera but any type would be fine if it takes good photos.

I would go for a good P&S unless you want to get into some specialized photography requiring interchangeable lenses. Seriously, the point and shoots take great quality pictures and are a lot easier to carry around.

Skills takes photos, the camera just records them for you. My camera is 2.1 MP. The default date is January 1 2001. But it turns out some pretty good photos.

Ok. So what are good Point and Shoot cameras?

I think the most important feature for me would be a responsive shutter button (time between pushing the button and taking the shot).
