That smell is in the TD Tower elevators and was in Sears too at about 7:00 pm.
Smelled like someone cutting steel with a torch or something.

The Bing Thom tulip tree controversy site is going to proceed, it's now 1241 Harwood no longer 1245. It will be a 18 storey tower. Not digging the design much, but I'll admit to not being a large fan of his work. Anyways here is what's public at this time.

I noticed the anti-Gregor graffiti sprayed on the hoarding of the site.

The signage is up for Donnelly Group's new pub on Homer Street in the old Shaken Not Stirred space next to Brix. Apparently it will be a 'neighborhood pub' type place - should be a good addition to the area:

Speaking of Donnelly, anyone know if they ever plan on opening Biminis again? It's been what, 3, almost 4 years since the fire?

They have almost rebuilt the building for Biminis.
It took a long time for construction to start.
I heard that they moved the liquor primary licence.
Anyhow it looks like it will be re-opening..

that's how all pubs in the UK work and is only to do with what beer they sell and nothing to do with ownership of the pub which is usually leased to an independant land lord who has to buy his beer from the brewery.

The only chain in the UK is weatherspoons where there is usually one in most town centres selling cheap bear and crap food.

that teh big problem here that you have to have wads of cash to open anything and the small guys are being pushed out. I wouldn't mind but all his joints are teh same with the same dark interiors. The finishing are hardly high end either.

I hate them.

Do you mean the Alexandra site? If so, that would be this:
