Not too shabby eh? I just wish he'd get back into photography, he's the one that inspired me to start shooting in the first place.

Has he tried shooting with your DSLR?

He's a tad intimidated by all the buttons and technology (I think).
Coming from film in the 70's and 80's, he's out of touch.
If I had extra cash I'd buy him a new DSLR kit.

He uses a crappy little P&S and it drives me nuts. lol

A DSLR course would help or just show him how to change the aperture and shutter speed and use AWB.

I could easily teach him... Don't know if he wants to be taught.

Wow some awesome panorama images here. I just joined this site recently and found this forum this morning.

Here are three of my attempts, hope you're not too hard on my efforts.

1) Downtown from Scotsman's Hill taken in May 2001

2) Almost the same shot taken August 2010

3) Downtown from Crescent Rd and 5th Street NW taken August 2010

First shot taken with my first digital camera an Olympus C3000 the last two a Canon 40D.

I like the comparison - big changes in a few years.

I like the "drumlin" shape of our skyline as seen from the north (pano #3 above).

This one is from today with the cell, I plan to get back out there sometime with my actual camera to re-shoot this (the one day I forget to take my camera with me).

I plan to re-shoot the night shots when I have more time so I can play with the settings and see what works where, the ones above were both f/22 and 30 second exposures.
