Great Pictures, makes me want to live in downtown more and more.
I love colorful lighting I wish they would light more buildings up with all sorts of changing colors.

Those are great views! It appears your balcony will always be in the shade with you facing the north. What an amazing place to call HOME!!

It's great for shade, but it's also the colder side of the building so in the "winter" it is going to be windier and colder than other sides.

Ill be visiting downtown Austin in a couple weeks! I cant wait, havent been there since last Christmas. It will be great to see the W finished.

Ya definitely not looking for sympathy. Just saying. I should have a good view of frost from my bed, which is bright orange. ( not burnt)

They have begun selling PSL's for the venue in the W. As well as the suites. They have 330 seats available and 5 suites. The website which at this point is just a place holder is acl-live.com.

White Lodging Services Corp. hopes to start construction by midsummer on a 17-story Hyatt Place hotel at Third Street and San Jacinto Boulevard in downtown Austin.

If the site plan is approved, White Lodging next would submit construction drawings to the city for the 296-room hotel. The approval of the drawings would allow White Lodging to obtain a building permit, which it hopes to have by late spring or early summer in preparation for the summer construction start, Yiankes said.

The all-suites hotel is expected to open 16 months later, in late 2012, he said.

White Lodging, based in Merrillville, Ind., also remains interested in building a large convention-size hotel downtown, Yiankes said

^Ah man, with all the possible hotels that are already proposed and could go up,,,,we get this ugly thing. I hope it doesn't take away from the possibility of getting a few others started.

Remember as a kid, when your teacher asked you to draw a car, some people would draw a volvo/box? this hotel was designed by that same kid.

I soooo agree with both of you. UGH. Which makes me continue to fear what that group might do on congress some day!
