these guys consulted SkyscraperPage in the making of the puzzle. it's called 4D because the fourth dimension is time, so it's important for them to have upcoming buildings as well. their NYC puzzle has all the upcoming WTC towers as well.

I've seen the above render for years. A lot of the rendered buildings are already built... perhaps people should start using new skyline pics to work from, lol

Wow what year is this approximately?
I noticed that the old 45 Bay design is on there too...

I love how if you follow Yonge St back from the lake, you get the CBD, then the Yorkville skyline, then Yonge & Eglinton, and then North York CC!
It's like the Energizer bunny, it keeps going and going and going..

It must be hard getting a picture with the right angle to showcase all the development going on in the city. We need someone who flys into Toronto city airport to grab some updated shots for Maldive to work with. So that the updated buildings do not need to be rendered.

And then he'd have to re create all of the same proposed U/C buildings. A lot of work to do on a regular basis.

looks like a 2015 skyline... but by 2015 they'll be even more projects underway !

btw: i see that front street proposal included in the render.. wasn't it cancelled?

That's one of the hardest part of these pictures. To get the right angle where every major project is visible. Calgary's aerial would be a southwest angle.
There is a great deal of effort that goes into these, and Maldive's work definitely does Toronto proud. That's one of my all-time favorite renderings.

The Yorkville, Toronto skyline from the North near St.Clair Avenue. This is a near future shot with a completed Four Seasons Hotel and Residences.

Wow very nice. Toronto looks particularly huge there considering how far away from the main CBD that is.

Someone made this interesting video of what Montreal might look like after various projects go ahead/get completed (in blue). No sound.

Wonderful Montreal video. It shows how expansive the downtown really is. Montreal may not have Canada's #2 skyline, but the downtown core is A1! Thanks for posting.

Yes: East is Best, West is Less

Here in Vancouver we seem stuck; there are dozens of highrise condominiums over 30 stories, but they're all rather stereotyped, with turquoise class and often-similar designs and shapes.

The CBD was "capped" years ago by a cautious city council, which resulted in a "tabletop" skyline of reasonably attractive, but still undramatic buildings.

The city is at a turning pont now, with the height restrictions being lifted in the city centre, but nothing really beautiful or dramatic going in (well, with one or two possible exceptions).

Calgary is starting to look like Dallas North, Montreal has a mature elegance to it, Toronto continues to outdo everybody (of course) yet Vancouver seems to have lost its way for the moment.

We're all waiting for a real turning point in the city's skyline. It will surely come ... one day.
