^^ Yeah, I think the last timeline they gave was 501 ft (tallest in OKC) by spring, 668 feet (tallest in Oklahoma) by summer, and topped out by fall.

The angle of that photo makes the Leadership Squage buildings look ghostly, how appropriate.

850 Feet seems high for a building with 54 floors - no?

Well you can't really question the official height of the building...

not really - it's a commercial office building which are built to different specs than a residential tower

actually, it was 54 floors and 925 feet.

it is reportedly now 50 floors and 850 feet, but some of us are hoping it will go back to 925 or (even better) go to 986 - so OKC can join the supertall club.

New office towers have much higher floor to floor heights than in the past.

I wasn't doubting the official 850' height - just wondering if there was a special reason for the (seemingly) extra high floor to floor height.
Comparing to the two new big office towers here in Calgary:
The Bow - 774' / 58 Flr = 13.34'/Flr
8th Ave Place - 699' / 51 Flr = 13.71'/Flr

Devon (OKC) - 850' / 54 Flr = 15.74'/Flr

Works out to about 2 feet more per floor. Maybe we're just shorter in Canada .

I love the Devon Tower by the way - keep the photo updates coming so us out-of-towners can stay up to speed on progress. Wish we could get some of that extra height.

Some of it may have to do with extra equipment due to the LEED Platinum certification? Not sure.

A lot of the average floor height difference has to do with the monumental heights of the atrium level floors in the tower. The first 6 floors are all over 20 feet high. It's very apparent when you visit the site how big the atrium levels are. Check how small the workers on the elevator core (I think this was when they were on 4th floor) look:

Atrium size

A lot of it has started within the last five years. As time has continued to go on, the average floor heights have increased. The average residential floor to floor height today is that of what the average office floor to floor height was decades ago. Don't even begin to ask me how short floor to floor heights were on residential projects even as short as 20 years ago!!! hehehe... Canada is not much behind in terms of such, take a look at Trump Tower Toronto, the Four Seasons Toronto and the new Ritz Carlton Toronto!!!

Also this tower has new company, look at the Comcast Center in Philadelphia, The Bank of America Tower in New York, The new 2 WTC in New York, Queens Square in Cincinatti, the Hotel Omni in Fort Worth and the proposed Mandarin Oriental in Dallas, the proposed American Commerce Center in Philadelphia.

Anyways, I awesome updates as always Shane! This tower is starting to grow like a weed!!!

ESPN had a feature on Kevin Durant during their NBA pregame show last night. In one segment, KD is interviewed in Bricktown with a great background shot downtown and Devon rising in the distance. I was impressed!

We love that the sports media somehow picks up on the storyline of OKC's economic renaissance too... They usually don't care much about stuff like that. The Thunder is probably doing more to help OKC's national image than anything else in history- the exciting and talented team, the energized crowd; plus the media used to try to get the players to complain about the town, but every time they would just tell the press how much they love living in OKC.

KSBI Webcam skyline shot from the northwest side. Devon the bump on the far right.

Agreed Shane! It's so exciting watching our city on the national media and getting the credit it's worked so hard for the past 2 decades.

P.S. That cam makes the city look like L.A. @_@
