I don't know if it has been mentioned, but what business will occupy the office portion of the building?

I like them so far as well - hopefully it doesn't look too busy once they're up on every floor. Here are some more of my photos from this morning:

It is rumored that all but one floor of the office portion will be occupied by the College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Thanks for the pics.

I read that there is a hotel in NYC that has stickers on all their room windows to remind their guests that "while you're enjoying the view of New York, New Yorkers are also enjoying the view of you."

Apparently there were too many guests in their rooms wearing nothing but a smile, not realising that despite seeing their reflection in the windows, they were still made of see-through glass.

Americans need to be reminded of a lot of things, for legal reasons. Most hotels have signs telling you not to hang clothes on the sprinkler system.

This is also the reason why hotel gyms in North America can not afford the insurance of having a bar bell or any weight above 30 pounds

Update 16OCT10

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4088/...847ca733_b.jpg

Unfortunately this will be my last update from this vantage point. I'm moving to Coal Harbour next week. It's a bit disappointing that I never got to see any glass go up but I really think the Georgia is going to be a landmark tower. Bring on the glass!

Thanks for the pics Locked In
The sunshades (on the north side?!?) look great - and I think that's the only pic I've seen of the precast panels between the Metropolitan Hotel and the Georgia's podium.

Thanks for the pics - at least you got to see where the angle turns back in.

Glass continues up the Howe Street office section. Today the first five levels filled the section previously occupied by the construction elevator. Only six more to go.

Thanks.

So it looks like the glass on the south side of the podium (near Howe) is like the glass in the slot window directly facing Howe (but it doesn't look like the banding lines up) and also similar to the glass on the south side of the podium facing the courtyard (but no narrow horizontal mullion below the wide panel):

All the metal accents are up on the north side of the podium - I like it. Looks like they're starting on the Howe Street side shortly.

Thanks - looks good.
I wonder what they'll do with the bare concrete wall facing the Metropolitan Hotel?

Some new advertising is going up on Howe Street, including a sign for the Rosewood Hotel Georgia - March 2011.

The restaurant is expected to open Jan 2011 a couple of months before the hotel.

Looks like they'll be lucky to have the residences completed in H1 2012!

so the glazing on the residential floors will have a lighter tint?

man, aside from the cement columns at street level, i'd say that this thing has so far exceeded every one of my expectation.

and this view is just amazing, thanks for all the pics:

A bit like a child anticipating Christmas. I can't wait to see the Georgia finished. I know that's some time off, but once it's there, it's going to add a "pizzazz" and energy to downtown that was never there before. Sure it may have some questionable design attributes, but hey, don't the majority of new buildings?

I don't recall if this has been posted, if so I apologize.

Looks like the hotel's site has gone live, it has some interesting pics and info.
