Still, who are these non voters? EVERYONE i know who could vote, voted. I understand that the "eligible voters" number probably includes a lot of people, who in reality, aren't, like non-citizens, but still...

Not to brag, but I was his first official campaign donor the day he said 'let's see if we can make this thing fly' on april 15.

I'm very happy Nenshi won...congrats! I feel much more confident in seeing the change this city needs with him at the helm.

One of the things I noticed was Naheed has a lot of broad support all over the City of Calgary. Naheed won nearly every ward in the city, two look like they are going to Ric (Ward 12 and 14), and one to Barb (Ward 10).

Haven't posted here in years, but I still lurk quite a bit.

What a great night! So proud right now. ^^

This is a new page for Calgary, and it feels great to be a very small part of it.

Before I go to bed- just want to point this out- several major developers (contributed to Nenshi in the last week of the campaign (Hopewell and Trico). They weren't there before, they are there now.

Gian-Carlo may still lose in ward 9, eep! 370 lead, it's closed a lot, and 35 out of 43 stations reporting.

I recall you were one of the first, I took notice of his platform and grew to like it very quickly. Thanks Wooster for opening my eyes

odd that ctv is calling him elected with 1.4% lead 34/43 reporting, but Druh is just leading with 1.5% lead 33/44

I'm 5 houses from the border of both wards 7 and 9, which are the two I'm still following.. I think I need to find out where the count is taking place and deliver a load of RedBull so they can count a little faster! : )

You should brag about it, you've been on board right from the beginning. Back when you thought he would win, I didn't think he had much of a chance.

We should all brag a little though, our work on Facebook, Flickr, SSP, Twitter, etc.. helped the cause! We're all part of this so called internet force that helped him get in.

Even though I lucked out and got a post election day off, I too must leave. Thanks for all the information provided in this thread by all of you, it was very useful for me, I actually knew what was going on this election. Don't forget to tell me if we have post-election parties of some sort!

By my math turnout is 49.5% with 12 polls to go, so if we round it we've broken 50% turnout, which I believe is a record and 52% is possible.

There was a bit there when he was well in the lead. In my opinion, CTV was calling a lot of the races prematurely. They might be regretting that decision since so many polls were still out and some wards cover very divergent communities.
