N/M

Just check out Higgins' interview at http://www.x929.ca/shows/theshow/?p=6912

She talks about the WEST village (knowing it's the one 15 years down the road) and how it will be an Arts centre. Seriously? What about this election term Barb?

Just talked to a coworker (who is brown) who isn't voting for Nenshi because he's brown.

Even more bizarro world commentary on the Rick Bell article:

Three very strong candidates. Any of them will bring something better to City Hall. I am a 55 year old, normally conservative taxpayer. I am going to vote for what I perceive to be the highest risk/ reward candidate, Naheed Nenshi, because his urban vision of Calgary seems to be the most complete and he presents it well. Like many households in Calgary, my wife will be cancelling my vote with hers for a different candidate. Congratulations, good luck and thanks to all the candidates for bringing the issues to the public.

My favourite is this one:

In these Economic times we cannot afford to be training newbies. The learning curve is to steep. A feel good mayor works in prosperous cycles. The Special interest is drooling to get Higgins or Nenshi in because they know they are weak and will cave in. When special interest wins, we lose a lot of money from our wallets. Check out Nenshi, he appears to be a social justice guy, which translates to redistribution. Higgins is a talking head covering her inexperience. I have no vested interest in any candidate and look at this from an unbiased perspective. Voting is about choice, but make it an informed choice.

My dad asked who I'd vote for and I said Nenshi... Cue the muslim commentary. I called him racist and showed him some clips of Nenshi outlining his policy. He might actually vote Nenshi now.

I personally know Mr. Arnold, and I can say he's a definite supporter of Nenshi. He's the only guy around with substance! I like, Dan, are definitely throwing our support for Nenshi! Both of us have been waiting a long time for someone of Nenshi's calibre to make an appearance on Calgary's political stage!

I have a bet with Dan on the results, he picked McIver (but we did enact this bet back in January).

Also he is on Charles Adler in like a minute, and on QR and CBC1010 later today.

Haha! Gold.

The Herald website has a new poll up for who would make the best mayor for Calgary. Go cast your vote!

Sorry, I can't follow properly, but could this be the Stewart endorsement, or is that already well known on twitter? (I have avoided twitter today- something about 500 tweets an hour on #yycvote and 80% of it just trolling garbage has put me off recently).

^^ I kinda wish he wouldn't... actually I would hope he won't endorse anyone.

Edit: response to Ramsay's post... damn I almost said Ramsay's tweet.

"Bronco backing McIver" would be much funnier and toxic for Ric.

Oh god I hope not! As mentioned above it would be much better if he backed McIver, would McIver supporters be smart enough to see through it?

Oh and Mr. Perry, good on you for showing restraint and not taking Joe's bait!

I'm going with "Chuck Norris endorses Nenshi, Higgins endorsed by Derek Zoolander".
