I was thinking have it cont down to every new years, you know, maybe actually start a new years tradition in Metro-Vancouver, have the clock as a count down centre piece and then have one of our LED screens downtown display it in front of a huge crowd on Granville.....oh wait, for some reason our entertainment district doesn't believe in such things, scratch that idea!

Although, a big LED screen would be perfect for the blank wall above London Drugs, and imagine shutting down that intersection on Granville for a New Years count down, would be so nice! I know the city would have no problem shutting down a street to cars for such a celebration. To bad we are just missing the screens......hmm............

It's kinda useless to be at 0 all of the time.
the article says the one in whistler will be used to count down events in whistler and the one in BC place will be used *drum roll* as a clock!

Yeah, but it could be sooo much more if we had a better set up (a big screen on Sears would enhance that party!)

Maybe a countdown to the day when we've finished paying for the Olympics?

A section of that tunnel still remains and it curves from that spot under Cosmo (shown in the picture), under the old Greyhound Bus yard block (possibly the future location of the Art Gallery) to roughly the intersection of Dunsmuir & Cambie where it abuts the SkyTrain Dunsmuir Tunnel.

Its my understanding that even though this tunnel is mostly empty and unused (except for scary film shoots), it still needs to have some access doors for annual inspections. I suspect that there will be an unmarked door in the Cosmo parking basement to allow access to the remains of the tunnel.

Whenever the old Greyhound Bus yard block gets dug up, the tunnel under that property will be removed too, so there will likely only be a sliver of tunnel left under Beatty St after both sides of the 600 block are finished construction. For that remaining piece of tunnel, I think it will be filled with sand & sealed up.

Pattison Toyota

This will be a joint venture project with Reliance Properties and Pattison. Together these two companies own most of the 1200 block of Burrard and Hornby. Reliance is a significant developer in Gastown as well as the developers of West Pender Place. It will be advancing to rezoning very shortly. The project will be called Burrard Gateway.

Any other information?

The project it self seems very promising, mostly due to location.

Thats why you can still see some independent shops on Robson, also probably the two ends of robson bring the average down.

So did glass production take a hit or something? Jameson House is missing all the spandrel panels for the concrete, and HG3 and Georgia both have no glass installed above the podium despite having poured 20 & 40 floors...

Wow! Those towers will definitely be breaking up Vancouver's tabletop skyline. Watch out!
