Very interesting with regard to that genius Josh White. I guess we just need all of those people who participated in the votes online to go out and physically vote.

Indeed. A new poll should be out soon in any case.

Maybe...

Anyway, I think what's interesting from those polls is that the politically engaged people in this city have gotten very firmly behind Nenshi.

One interesting thing about that latest major poll that put him in 3rd place in voter intention is that he still was way, way back in the pack in name recognition, which means that those who have heard of him are all supporting him. In other words, people like what they see in him. Now that his profile and exposure is on the rise, this bodes well for him amongst the wider general public. The next major poll will be very telling of his actual chances, if Higgins' campaign is dying, if McIver's support is beginning to soften and if undecideds are declining (or not).

^^ from the last poll, if he had the same name recognition as McIver and Higgins, he'd be firmly in second place ahead of Higgins, and that's completely discounting the fact he's put out more policy statements since then which could increase his percentage of supporters of those who know of him.

An interesting personal aside...

There is definitely one candidate I'm leaning towards. The company I work for has contributed rather heavily to another candidate that I don't believe I would ever vote for (or rather, the company itself hasn't but our founder, CEO, spouses, EVPs, etc. have). What does my company think this candidate can do for them?? Hmmmm...

The most interesting man in the world doesn't usually hang out with people. But when he does, he hangs out with Josh White.

I have to thank Bob Hawkesworth for putting the Airport Tunnel document up on his site. http://bobhawkesworth.ca/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Graham-Engineering-Report-Dec-2009.pdf It was eyeopenning, to the fact that he is either competent or lying SOB. Either way I can't support him, and as a Ward 4 resident I now do everything I can to make sure he never become Ward 4 Alderman again. If you read the document Phase 1 is about 247 Million for a 6 lane tunnel. The 250 million in phase 2a and 2b is the remaining upgrades to do to Airport trail to get to ulitmate buildout as per the current future plan. Now 2a and 2b could be build at the same time, 5 years from now, 25 years from now or never. Worst thing about it is that parts of 2a and 2b will likely be done anyways (ie. Metis/Airport interchange, 19th/Airport interchange providing new access to airport which is 2b.)

Brilliant catch Koolfire. You should put that on the twitter. I noticed that either Bob wears the same shirt and tie all the time, or something really pissed him off between your photo and mine.
