And 667 ft. is Oklahoma's current tallest: the BOK Tower (One Williams Center) in Tulsa.

No, you are correct. It doesn't have much girth, comparatively speaking, but that will only accentuate the height.

Well as OKCity confirmed it ISN'T really that wide. Because i don't live there i can't tell if it is just the pictures or it really is that thin. Soooo i guess i didn't really know, that is why i asked.

I think the picture is a bit deceptive. It looks as though the tower is right at the street but in fact it is a block away. I think this is mostly because the photographer zoomed in to get closeups, so we think the tower is closer when it really isn't. A much better prospective can be had by going to the OKCTalk webcam which is located on the 16th floor of the nearby Oklahoma Tower: http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/webcam/DevonConstructionCam.jpg. In the webcam, you can see the building compared to other buildings, people inside the building, and vehicles - then you really see how massive it is.

to give perspective, I believe the first 6 floors have heights of 18 feet, and the first "two" lobby floor/s have a total height exceeding 30 feet. I believe the "normal" floors have 15 feet heights. I think the floorplate will have over 26,000 square feet (don't quote me on that), but if so - that is quite large. ... Hopefully someone in the know can confirm this. Take a look at picture 5 which shows the podium, you will see a man standing on the first floor of the podium - if he is 6 feet tall, just see how the first floor ceiling towers over his head. .....

Seeing the man in front at the fence, the glazing, and the angle of the picture (and HD zoom) throws off the actual size of this building. Which would (as others have said) make the tower look slimmer and hence much taller than it's actual height.

Like hotrod mentioned, the pictures were a bit deceiving with regards to the girth of the tower. I think in the video that Unfrskn provides just above , shows some shots from the south that should give you a sense of how massive the tower is in relation to the other buildings around it. If I remember correctly the shot I am refferring to is at or near the end on the east side of the myriad gardens. In the shot the Chase tower is there and Devon dwarfs them all with its girth, and then all you have to do is imagine it with its full height. It is going to be one huge tower!

Compared to everything else in OKC it is going to be a huge tower (height & width), but when compared to other buildings of similar height, it could be much wider i.e. US Steel-Pittsburg, The Masterpice-Hong Kong. I think it has good proportions though.

I just really can't wait to see OKC grow and change, and I can't wait to see this tower as an exclamation point on the Oklahoma City skyline. Along with the relocated Crosstown Expressway and the Core-to-Shore project, and the already fantastic Bricktown district, this will create a true 21st-Century city that I will for sure want to visit.

Im so glad it doesnt look like a parking garage, it actually looks really good. Now why cant they do this in Houston? Does it have bottom retail? Kinda looks like it might.

I agree, I'm loving that parking garage. Being pretty familar with OKC the parking garage that was there before wasn't bad looking "for a parking garage" but wow loving the new. This project keeps getting better n better

I don't think it was going to, but now it looks like it does. They may have added. Devon really paid attention to public opinion on the project, because they are really serious about pleasing their community, and a lot of people in OKC are starting to understand urban streetwall principles like the importance of street level retail in structures like parking garages.

Those may just be windows to help break up the space. Either way, retail or just facades, it provides some transparency and interest for pedestrians.

Along that wall, facing Walker, the reflective part above the street level is planned as an employee health club.

That is simply amazing. I am freaking jealous. From a height perspective and an architectural perspective, this tower is worthy of every bit of praise it will get. It sort of reminds me of the time that Mobile got the RSA Battlehouse, which is only 37 floors. Being from Jax, I was mad that that building ended up being so "tall" and I never thought it deserved ALL the praise it got, but this tower is truly a tall, beautiful, community enhancing tower with all of the right features! OKC should be proud that it is getting a better/taller downtown development than most cities in the entire country. It actually even fits in with the skyline even though it is at least 350 ft. taller than anything else.
