I like Halifax because it has a distinctly urban setting. There's no doubt NF is tall though, if you look closely you can see it from the escarpment west of Hamilton.

Right, that's why Thunder Bay so often beats Chicago, HK and NYC in skyline comparisons.
Height makes a skyline good, but not a city.

^sure... but there are exceptions. Niagara Falls, height or not, is generally speaking everything wrong with skylines.

So what then of Mississauga?.. I wouldn't want to spend even 30 minutes in the place, yet it must be argued that it is doing everything right with regards to its skyline.

i think the falls have a better tall skyline but if you look at density and quality and the way the building fit together as one skyline then in my mind halifax comes on top, i may be a little bias here but regardless just looking at it id say halifax
Halifax - i like their 'skyline' even if not that tall.
Similar here in Edmonton where we are capped at 150m due to the airport overlay, but because of that and our river valley we have an enormously long skyline at the top of bank.

I did not say that height was not important, but saying that it is the only factor in determining a good skyline is stupid. You have to consider density, quality of buildings, diversity, etc. When you look at it overall Halifax has a way better skyline.
It's like saying that a skyline of a few 100 story commie blocks is better than Toronto.

I wonder how many Torontonians would consider Los Angeles to have a better skyline, excluding the CN Tower, which is not really that attractive to begin with.
LA has the taller office tower and has more buildings over 200 metres. In my experience, however, it looks much smaller than Toronto in person.
Put another way, I also wonder if people in Toronto would trade hundreds of 30 or 40 storey residential highrises and office towers for a single 300 metre hotel building. That is roughly equivalent to the relationship between the Niagara Falls and Halifax skylines.
Well ok, how many towers does Halifax have in Total to give and trade with Niagara Falls?
Right now I'll call Halifax - Niagara Falls a deadlock with Niagara Falls up only because of the Hilton Tower.
For the record: I would trade maybe 20-40-storey towers in Toronto for 2-200 Meter towers and 1-300 Meter tower.
Also, Casino Tower is decent. I don't like the way it was topped off though. If King's Wharf goes through or if the United Golf development would ever go through it would easily beat Casino Tower. Anyways, A lot of this is opinion so I'm going to stop arguing.
