I like the renderings alot... except for #1 because of the inclusion of the house. The design is great... so why keep that house tacked onto the side of it. Looks rediculous.

^ Agreed. The first two look great, and I'd love to see them get built. The third one looks terrible imo. Modern yes, but the colors, window placements don't look good to me. I do like the brown building that looks like a stack of books though... That looks interesting.

No matter what they do to that building's exterior, it will be a big improvement over the brown corrugated metal and exposed duct pipe.

Green Lantern Granville Street facade improvements

I think all of these look pretty good. I really like the Granville design and it could go well with the redevelopment of the building next door and United Gulf towers, plus the red Roy Building side - this is going to be an area of modern looking architecture if it ever gets going.

Seymour and Coburg to me looks like it's for the Needs site next to the new Dal building. If somebody takes a wrecking ball to the red brick apartments and brown metal house across the street this will be a lovely area. I really like the residential side streets north of Dal and the houses along Coburg Rd.

I think these all look great! Seymour will compliment the new Dal building very well. Lucknow will go well with Fenwick just around the corner. And the back of the Green Lantern building...well....its about time we had something really modern downtown.

There are 3 main sites. The library is on the southeast corner of Spring Garden and Queen, between TUNS and the Starbucks.

The library won't take up the whole block going back to Morris, but I'm not sure what the plans are for the rest. The part right on the corner of Morris and Queen is owned by Dal.

There are two other big empty lots on Clyde Street, on the south end of the block that fronts onto Spring Garden. These are the ones the HRM is looking to develop.

Every building should be required to have a green roof of some type now regardless of size. I understand this isn't always possible but I believe every effort should be taken to make it happen.

I agree- the new academic building that Dal is finishing up is 5 storeys tall (and is on the same block as this proposal). If it were 9-10 storeys tall instead of the 4 seen in the rendering it would build up the area nicely and not look out of place.

Hopefully the Needs currently on that piece of land relocates close to its current spot because so many students use that store.
