No buildings have been scrapped at the WTC location this year.

The latest talk I believe is to build towers 2 and 3 to street level by next year. Towers 2 and 3 havn't been canceled beyond that.

The plan is to build the podiums for towers 2 and 3, then halt construction if enough office space can't be leased to justify construction of the rest of the tower. Ideally, enough office space will be leased that the towers will be built right away, otherwise they will be held up until the market justifies finishing the towers. Nothing has been cancelled, there is just a possibility that towers 2 and 3 might be temporarily held up if the market doesn't justify their construction when they get to that point. The podiums still won't be completed for a year or 2 though, so they have plenty of time to lease enough office space in 1 or both towers to finish them.

The time lapse animation shown during the FOX 5 newscast showed only the stumps on towers 2 & 3. Given the time it will take to build to street level, I believe the markets will improve by then and eventually enough tenants will signup to complete the towers to their full heights. Not a matter of IF they will be built, only WHEN.

At 347 feet tall, 1WTC is now slightly more than a quarter of its final rooftop height (1368/4 = 342).

you know i would have to agree with you on this one, your absolutly right.

and I would say in one year from now it should be taller then the Varcey aka Verizon building, and just as tall and if not taller then Tower 7. and I dont mean what the path deadline for the building but in actuall time and speed of the construction on Tower 1v2

wow, i was doing some calculations on the height of Tower 1v2 and lets see. The base is 186 feet right, Each office floor is 13.4 right, and there up to the 12th office floor. so 12x13.4=160.8. Now the base plus office floor is 186+160.8=346.8.

now the varcey aka verizon building is 500 feet heigh. so 500-346.8=153.2 feet. so there for 10 floors or 5 more rises and tower 1v2 will be the same height as the varcey aka verizon building. so hopefull by late november it will be the same height as the verizion building and just 241 feet less then tower 7.

maybe about 580 to 600 ft. i mean i just think it'll be somewhere very close to the size of WTC 7 by the years end. bu thats just my opinion.

but if you do your calculation the base was done around feb 26. so since then 12 office floors were added and so it took them almost 5 months to do that. so for another 10 floors is just about in 4 months from now. but i could be wrong.

true but remember the big stall with the concrete core,maybe im going out on leg here but im gonna trust the port authority on this one.

i just hope by my birthday on december 27 i just hope we will see a noticeable difference in height on tower 1 v2. do you think by then we could clearly see a difference by then?
