Most definitely! USA will be making a profit from this as well. The money they get from selling this property will go towards the expansion of the Women & Children's Hospital. Sometimes you have to be willing to give up something in order to gain.. lol.. But I'm pretty sure Brookley will put that land to good use. NO DOUBT!

I have no factual info to back my claim ,but man the store is big,lol The old Rite Aid Pharmacy that has been tooken over by Winn-Dixixe in that center is just the produce and baker alone !! And the produce and bakery section at Wal-Mart isn`t even close to that size maybe half of the grocery section but not produce.I also think that they have extended the rear of the grocery section as well.

Quite sarcastic. I mean, they pretty much just gave us a letter and said, we're kicking you out in about three months time :/

So NOW, my mother has to come up with a deposit AND pay rent (which is ridiculously high)...c'est la vie.

A few new "skyline" pics.

From Springhill college, if you look on the far right, you can see the cruise ship's tail:

From the Cochrane Bridge:

From Africatown, just before the bridge:

From I-165

The new antique store i spoke of earlier:

Also, I've heard that Mobile Regional, and possibly Gulfport/Biloxi Regional should get new direct flights to Chicago on United Express pretty soon.

Thanks for sharing the shots, Alxx. I love the view from the Cochrane Bridge. Did you see any new windows on GM Building's north facade?

Nice pics Alxx! I think im a little late on this topic but I have never seen the renderings for Gayfer's Place. I was walking on my way to see my optician, who has not showed me the renderings for the GM Building yet, and saw this a top the old Gayfer's Building. Am I the only person who hasnt seen this yet? Oh yea. Also have you all noticed the new condominiums over off Florida St. near the bowling alley. I want to say they are about 5 stories high.. not sure. They are going to be really nice. Strange location but really nice.

I wish they would hurry up with the gayfers development.maybe that building could be the first multi usage building for retail. It has three floors, so it would be cool to have maybe an Old Navy on the first floor,A foot Locker or Foot Action on the second, and cafe on the third.

I had no idea that those are condos on the Florida Street corner ? And yes it is about 4 or 5 stories. I wish it was downtown instead but mid town will do just fine. And I have to agree with you that it is in a strange location.

The Gayfer building renderings look cool. What's the hold-up on developing this property?

Those Gayfers building renditions have been up for a long time, there's a few more on the St. Emanuel St. side of the building too. I thought the condos plans for it were long scrapped though, and the building was still for sale.

Those condos on Florida St. look like they'll be nice, but yes, very out of place next to the Pathway Apartments and the run down neighborhoods. I believe it used to be part of that church next to it. They are adding large balconies to the building.

Per the Florida St. condos, here's hoping it will stimulate a turn-around of the area.

Oh ok. Cool Alxx. I thought I was a little late on Gayfer. haha. And I totally agree with you Port_of_Bama. That shud have been placed downtown. But have you all noticed the rather large construction of the Village of Midtown over there behind Tricentennial Park (the park across the creek behind Mobile Infirmary)? It looks like its going to be really nice and large. I searched for renderings of that but couldn't find a thing. Do any of you guys have those renderings?

Yeah that looks really nice. I went running down the creek and looked at it this morning. That area used to be really nice -- I am glad they are focusing on it again.
