It was probably better she stole all the attention, she was probably mugged when she left the casino

The motorbikes and most of the acrobatics were rained out the night I went, so the bulk of the show fell on the Young Canadians. The end result was the most expensive dance recital I had ever been to.

The whole "World Party" theme was rather bland, and the associated songs seemed cliché and soulless to me. Though I was amused by how similar it was to the Civilization IV background music. The comedian did a good job. He hit a solid balance between being edgy and family friendly, which he needed to be at for the Grandstand audience. The fireworks were somewhat simple but still entertaining. If they had been able to put on the whole show, I might have been more impressed, but in the end I came away forgettably entertained.

Hey, does anyone know how the final attendance numbers ended up this year? With the weather and ride malfunctions (and recession...), I hope it didn't hurt Stampede too bad...

It was down a little this year, with 1,145,394 total attendance. 2009 was at 1,186,636. That's a differences of 41,000 and change, and that can pretty much all be attributed to Tuesday, when the weather was so shitty. That day drew 43,000 less people than Tuesday in 2009.

You can find all the numbers here.

Well that's decent then. Sounds like a normal year, nothing too bad.
