I have definitely discovered that if you walk around with a big camera, people assume you are a tourist and treat you a lot better.

Maybe it's worth the investment for your self esteem ?

^ nice! i love the clarity.

ok, I need help with this. i was looking over some pictures i took yesterday and this one is bizarre. note the object right above Carina (centre condo)

here is a zoom. at first i thought it was a helicopter but no. then i thought it might be a bug but it does not have any limbs or anything. what is this???? it was not there in the previous picture and gone in the next. i can't figure it out. any ideas? it almost looks like a bullet with wings flapping...

Smile great photos !

Photo number (?) five from the top, the one of the building through the leaves, is a sleek-looking structure.

Too bad that Georgia Canyon still has "itty-bitty" buildings interspersed along it. Larger scale buildings would give it a sleeker "Manhattanish" feeling. This will come in time, I guess

you can't really make HDR afterwards - true HDR is the same pic taken at multiple exposures and than merged into one image

i personally hate all HDR but when its done good it can be alright but i would still hate it

Nice photos Yume.

There are lots of photos taken on Granville looking south when we won hockey gold, but here's one of the few - another angle of the crowds taken from the bridge:

Don't we all miss giving random people high fives?

proud of this city, and this nation, for it became what it is within such a short time and a small population.

I'm quite proud too...but all we had to do for much of our history was sell resources. If we can't even do that, we don't deserve to be a country. Our city has certainly come a long way since 1886, a village with just a few hundred people.

On the other hand, one city I really admire is Singapore....nothing but rainforests and a small island to work with, no resources, then utterly transformed into a cosmopolitan centre of commerce and tourism in less than half a century through hard work, sacrifice, and determination.

I agree but I do want to be a Debbie Downer and state that they also didn't practice 'our type' of democracy during that process.

But yeah, I miss the random high fiving.
