Amazing! Time has really flown by with a lot of these projects nearing completion

now we just need some new buildings proposed to watch.

I was happy to see the Old American Hotel site was "SOLD" a few weeks back then amazed to see what looks like RENO's to the building taking place. 1st they took down the awnings on the Main Side........now they have boarded it up which looks like will result in new glass and doors going in at entrance level.....SHOCKING. Thanks for the update on this! I noticed that as well and was worried it would bite the dust for sure. I don't care what's going in as it's been vacant forever and serving no useful purpose. And I think there's still some occupied suites up above. I have high hopes for this stretch of Main, it has much potential.

Next was the landmark neon sign, topped by an elegant rendering of Roman goddess Diana. The neon had been blue for years, but it was originally red, so red it became again.

The restoration continues inside. The seats have been refurbished, the stage extended, and a new boiler has been installed in the basement to provide much-improved heat.

Oh the American. What crazy memories of that place have I! As a non-smoker, I always hated going in the smoking booth to socialize with my buddies from the 'hoe. $1.50 for a half pint of that nasty Pacific Pilsner (is it still around?), then the wait for the Natives to arrive with their "catch" of the day. $5 steaks stolen from Buy Low's dock? Yep. $100 Apple laptops? Yep.

I miss those days.

After six months living off the grid... I have come back. It's good to see that Vancouver construction is getting stronger.

Does anybody know a developer or a construction company that need a manager?

Anyways looks like Storyeum will have it's new tenant later this year

looks like the Carrall Street greenway is being worked on again.....this would be the last segment needed between the south end of the greenway and the false creek seawall.
