Probably not.
Safeco paid about $40 million to have it's name on Safeco field for 20 years. That's only $2 million a year. And Quest Field cost $75 million for 15 years, still only $5 million/year, and I would say Washington is a bigger market than BC (and NFL more than the NHL). AT&T park in SF costs about $2 million for naming rights. United Center in Chicago costs about $1.8M/year. Even the ACC, the most recognized arena in Canada has a 20 year agreement worth only $30 million.
Even the Staples Center (one of the most said names in sports because of the Lakers) is $5.8M/year, and is one of the highest only eclipsed by FedEx Field and American Airlines Center ($6.5M/year).
Rogers Center is called that because Rogers outright bought the Skydome for $25million, about 25% of the original construction cost.
Naming GM Place would not cost over $5 million/year, and I would guess whoever ponies up won't be paying more than $2-2.5 million/year.
People think naming rights generate a lot of money, but in all honesty I don't think the money gotten from naming rights will even cover 1 of the Sedin's contracts.
P.S. the Original GM Place agreement was for $18.5million, but it was to expire in 2015 (20 year term), GM is backing out early. So the ORIGINAL naming rights for GM Place worked out to under $1 million/year.
