Maybe your avatar was a good clue as to where you live. I don't know too many guys who would use a picture of another guy holding a cat as an avatar. So it's safe to assume that's your balcony and view.

True. I know plenty of guys who would use other guys holding cats as their avatar.

They're finally starting to deconstruct the temporary building housing the W sales office. I noticed this yesterday morning, and the big 'W's on each side are already down.

This morning I asked one of the construction workers how long it would take to take the building completely down and he said about a week.

A restaurant called "Haddington" I believe. It will be run by the owners of Mulberry in the 360 tower.

I actually think that the article is factually wrong in where they are claiming the building is do be located. 907, 909, and 911 Congress Avenue are on the east side, midblock on Congress Avenue (odd numbered street address). Check it out the street view on Google Maps:

The three buildings boarded up with the red "For Sale" sign are the buildings in question. They are clearly abandoned.

i would like to say, and maybe i'm showing a bit of homerism, but after being the last few months in the sanfrancisco bay area there is nothing that austin would ask for from any other city. and maybe i am a little homesick or maybe i'm not giving it enough time to acquaint myself with san francisco but all i see that austin lacks is better public transportation, although with its size it's not a disappointment at all. i feel austin is truly an underrated city.... and i can't wait to move back once i finish school here.

enjoy austin all you can! although i wasn't born there, i've lived there long enough since 1998 to consider myself an austinite at heart.

Migol,
While I love Austin too I would really encourage you to get to know SF. I was only there for 5 days but know enough to say that it is in a different class than here and truly a class only surpassed in the US by New York. Get to know it on foot, at street level, its small enough to do a little at a time and see the whole city that way over the course of a few months. Go spend some time in Oakland, it too has a lot to offer.
And you absolutely have to hit up the coast, from SF to LA on highway 1 is absoltely inspiring! Enjoy your time there and we look forward to you bringing a better urbanized mind back to your home.
