The first buildings going up, will they be overlooking Secunda Marine. Strange mix, industrial wasteland and nice buildings. JET

They'll have the industrial on one side and, down the road, 17-18 story buildings on the other.

It's good to hear about how others are excited about the project as well. Once things really get going, you'll probably see a line of people watching.

Hey man that's great. It's a perfect location for a large piece of development. It'll revitalize that whole area.

I feel the same way about the Trillium. I'll never live there but it just makes this entire neighborhood look 10X nicer. Really classy.

I make a point of walking by it every single day. Development = exciting.

I'd hate to have a home that had the industrial mess as a view. Too bad that something couldn't be done about that. There are tugs on the Halifax waterfront, and the site is clean and neat. Even if some small buildings were built to store all the 'junk' JET

Trees could certainly block the view for the first few floors. Maybe Fares could offer to help construct the buildings to store all the junk??

The lot diagram shows that those buildings will be right on the edge of the water, near the bridge that Jon was shooting from. No space for a tree barrier. maybe Fares can negotiate some improvements to the other property. JET

We will definitely keep you up to date on this one. I walk by it all the time.

I'm now wondering though if they are gonna cut the tops off of all these piles once they are in? They do have to fit parking and all that here and I don't think cars can drive between those if they were turned into internal columns.

Certainly not. I dropped by and saw that they are digging around the base of a bunch of the columns and I couldn't figure out why. Now I'm wondering if they will cut them below the current ground level. They are now putting piles in the water. And demo is happening on the steel parts of the big building.

Well considering this is barely zoomed in I think its safe to say the cranes will be highly visible from Halifax;

It's probably piles for a retaining wall so they can excavate behind them.. But that is just a guess..

They have indeed cut off the top of about half the piles driven so far. I'll try and grab a pic this afternoon.
