I've been lurking for quite a while, but I recently regisitered so that I could post some details in the Lunenburg thread in the Atlantic Provinces section.

I grew up in Lower Sackville, moved to Ontario for a few years, and now I'm back to Nova Scotia and living in Lunenburg. I like to follow what's going on in terms of developments in Halifax.

Hi guys!

I'm new to the forums. I'll likely be more of a lurker, simply due to the fact that it seems most posters know more than me. I'm still young, and at the very least, I feel as if there is a lot I can learn by visiting here.

I'm 21, I grew up in the Annapolis Valley, and I'm currently attending University in Newfoundland. I am expecting to finish my degree in 2012, hoping to work for a few years (in Halifax) and then eventually move on to complete a Masters of Real Estate Development. This is a long term plan, and anything could change, but it's what I really think I'd like to do. If not, something in Urban Planning would also interest me.

I love traveling, I love the look of a nice building, and I think Skylines are some of the nicest pictures someone could take. I traveled to NYC in August for the first time, and was blown away. I have every intention of someday owning my own skyscraper.

I look forward to spending some time here!

Thats older than me and at least one other forumer in this section. You don't have to be old to know at lot. I've been on here a couple of years and can now spit out detailed information about any project in HRM from memory and I have no formal education in the matter.

Thats what really stood out for me about the website, is that it'll be a great way to keep on top of development in areas that interest me. Suppose if I'm not young age wise, I'm young in terms of my knowledge. Hopefully that will all change.

Dartmouth grown, seasoned as a Navy brat in Toronto, Norfolk, London UK and Ottawa, Halifax resident.

Bizarrely, right after we bought the house in Halifax, my wife and I both got jobs at the opposite ends of Dartmouth, I work in Woodside she in Burnside. I take the ferry to work most days now.

Born in south end Halifax but currently living about 1 hour from HRM. I spend most of my time here lurking and posting in the Halifax Stadium thread and anything CFL. I'm a life long Argos fan and I hope someday Halifax can have a CFL team of it's own that I can cheer for and support.

Some of you have probably already run into me on here.
I was born in upstate New York and moved to this beautiful province when I was only 6 years old. Im a fan of 60's/70's architecture not only on the outside but on the inside of the building as well. I find most modern buildings with their "maximized natural daylight", white paint and lack of decor to be bland and unfulfilling environments to step into.

I have a strong belief that in a city cars and people should remain separate with cars being filtered through efficient major roadways and parked out of site while pedestrians remain inside, out of the weather in esthetically pleasing malls, plaza's and arcades filled with fountains, artwork, interesting lighting, marble brick and wood. So I sometimes tend to headbutt current trends of how retail should be planned, located and designed.

Im also geared towards preserving wilderness area's outside of our city but minimizing new green space within the city itself. We have a good balance now with the gardens, point pleasant, the commons and citadel hill along with numerous smaller historic parks.

The way I think can be a bit old fashioned but hopefully it will offer some good suggestions and criticism to discussions in this forum from an interesting and different point of view.

Longtime lurker here, Mainland Halifax born and raised. Since I attend Dal/King's, I have lived in a few different parts of the peninsula - 2 different apartments near Robie & Coburg and one at Brunswick & Cogswell. I'm currently writing my honours thesis on public transit in HRM (essentially a rapid transit proposal) and I attended a couple of the public consultations for the proposed stadium.

Hello All,

A little late introducing myself. Long time Listener, I'm from Dartmouth Lakes area, but have lived in DT Dart, DT Halifax, S Halifax, N Halifax, and many places in the Maritimes. I live in W Hali now. I've been to Uni at both Dal, and MSVU, as well as attending NSCC. I find Halifax best embodies the Maritimes culture of friendliness, and at times backwardness. I love this city to an almost feverish level because of it's resilience to grow despite the bubblings of a small few.
